My 3yr old son doesnt act like he is feeling bad & he says that he is okay. but yesterday he layed down for a nap and when he woke, it felt like he may of had a slight fever. What concerned me was his feet and hands being really hot. Is this normal or is there possibly an underlying medical problem? Has anyone else experienced this with their toddlers?

What can I do next?

You need to know how high the fever is before you give over the counter medicine. Even though the site below is the mayoclinic's website you should ask your pediatrician for advice for this instance and the future. Also research Tylenol and liver damage. It definitely has it's place but should be used when you need it, not when you don't. He may also get a fever for a short period of time and recover. That is how his body fights off illness. Again, check with your doctor on this.

Lots of kids are hot when they wake up from a nap. They are usually covered in a blanket or are laying on top of one and that makes them warm. It is totally normal!

Thats how I know my baby has fever. Hot hands and feet. Treat with motrin or Tylenol and get to the doc when you can. Good luck mama

My daughter had hot feet & hands the other day and I just kept watch on her and let her ride it out. She was find by the morning. I don't even think she knew she had a bit of fever.

She had picked up a sniffle at her daycare and then it turned to a congested cough. The fever was only over one night and was slight. She is now in day 2 of recovery.
