So my relatives were chatting and I walked in on the conversation missing a part of it. (Big family, moving around room to room.) But I thought I overheard one of them saying something along the lines of the fact that they would pass a statue (or more like hide it in each others yards/neighbors yards and such). It was more of a joke. This statue was suppose to help you concieve. Within this group, many concieved by "surprise" or such (all married couples and totally ok with getting pregnant) and then later found out that the statue had been in their yard/house when they concieved. I'm not super close to the relatives that were chatting about this but would be interested in the statue (to put in friends yards and such also as a joke, nothing major or serious.) Does anyone know if a such statue exisit, or has this belief about them?? It's almost like the statue that you put in your house or burry in your yard when you are trying to sell your house. I know that's a statue of a saint. Not sure what this one is. Any ideas??

What can I do next?

I saw a "fertility statue" at the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum in San Francisco. At the time I was on my honeymoon and not quite ready to get pregnant, so I did not touch it. Can't say if it works or not, but supposedly it has helped over 2000 women.

google "fertility statue", you'll probably find the info youre lookin for.
The ones I just looked at look kinda creepy. I would think since you sort of want to use one as a joke you should get one of those ceramic gnomes and just call it a fertility gnome and give it to whomever is trying to concieve :)
At least the gnomes are kinda cute, tacky yes, cute tho.

My step mom always had trouble getting pregnant, she was given the fertility statue and swore it worked. She borrowed it out to friends when they were trying to conceive. Some swear by it!

I don't know what saint it would be but so many cultures have a fertility god or goddess (you could research almost any ethnic group or culture to get an appropriate one). We got a small fertility statue for friends who were getting married (in Aruba, we got it there). Apparently it rubbed off on us since I was pregnant the next month (we had been trying for several months). I gave it to them in a plastic bag with a note to unwrap when they are ready to use it. It was a good fun gift. Who knows if it has any real effect?
