I'm an Abington alumna, and while they have a great reputation, I'd choose Lower Moreland of the three school districts. Upper Dublin is excellent too.
We're going to move within Montgomery county and want to make sure we pick the right school district for our elementary aged child. I would love feedback on Jenkintown, Abington, and Lower Moreland schools if you are in any of these...

I answered your other post on the Jenkintown area before I saw this post. Lower Moreland and Jenkintown are both very, very good school districts. Jenkintown is quite small. The graduating high school classes are very, very small. That can be wonderful, but Lower Moreland, being larger, has more course offerings. Abington...well... I had my kids in the public schools but pulled them out. If you want to hear the details, send me a private message.
Hello,
Go to www.schoolmatters.com you will find out anything you would want to know about any school. I send clients of mine there all the time.
P.
About me...I am a full time Realtor with 2 great kids aged 6 and 12 and I have been married for 15 years.
I have lived in Montgomery County all of my life and I am also a teacher. Out of the three districts, Lower Moreland would be my choice. There is nothing "wrong" with the other schools, but I think Lower MOreland is a nice district.
Depending on where you go in Jenkintown...Some parts are considered Elkins Park and that would be Cheltenham School district. I love my school Cheltenham Ele) but we will be taking our kids out of the district by no latter then 7th grade. Like others said Jenkintown is small, has its pros & cons, and I wouldn't send my kids to Abington if you paid me. So that leaves you with lower Moreland, If I had an option Id go bucks county if I were you!
All of the schools in the area are great. That's why housing and taxes are so high and in great demand. Jenkintown is a smaller district. Lower Moreland is a wealhier district and a little less diverse. You can't go wrong with any of them! Trust me - I've lived in area ll my life and pay extra to get my son to go to an Abington school - I live 1 mile outside of the Montgomery County limits. I'd love to move to any of theese neighborhoods but can't afford to.
