What should I have my little youngster give his dad?

Make something?

Buy something?

He's into his tools (but has a lot), used to do a lot of things outside but not so much anymore) rides bikes.

Any cool, innovative ideas?

Good ol' standbys?

What are you giving your husb?

What can I do next?

My son enjoys drawing/coloring, so I suggested he make a book for his father. I got the paper out and he drew 'things Daddy likes', one to a page:

a cribbage board,
a pink cup with beer (and a hand holding the beer, ha ha)
a chocolate scone and....
a bag full of money.

I'm likely going to give my husband what he wants, which is a copy of the new Diablo game. men.

My girls make him a card, then I let them pick out something (within reason) for him. It's been all kinds of things, like a spiderman figurine, bobblehead. This year they got a him a Detroit TIgers pillow pet! He loves the TIgers, and they gave it to him yesterday becasue they were too excited and he honestly loves it! Its a genuine gift and he adores it!

We did a hand and footprint painting. Also had my sin hold the letters to spell out I love (heart) dada. One letter or the heart per picture ans then framed them all. I even found a frame to hold 6 pictures in a row.

When our daughter was little she always am de him a card. Then she would be given a choice af gifts I ha d thought about. As she got older, she had her own ideas and I would help her decide, based on what we could afford.

Flashers to place on the back of his bike helmet one year.

A pint of his favorite ice cream from a local ice cream shop. Really good coffee. She made him a few things and a few pieces of her art... But she came up with, movie tickets. A funny tshirt we saw. A book he had taked about. A subscription to wooden boat magazine...this was over the years....

This year it will be a dinner prepared entirely by our daughter! Including homemade bread!

We're not huge into gifts. We like to celebrate by eating a nice meal together and having a nice day together.

I did get DD a few of his favorite treats, and DD made him a couple things, and I also got him a card.

Truth be told, we pretty much buy what we want throughout the year, so I never really find it necessary to buy another "thing" he doesn't really need.

Personally, I LOVED the things DD made me for Mother's Day. I really didn't need a material item, and DH is like that, too.

I helped DD make a shirt using her handprints. She picked the shirt color and paints and then we did 4 handprints and turned them into flowers (thumbprints for leaves). Then I wrote I love you and <3 Daddy on it for her. He loved it.

I've also done pictures, when Kiddie Kandids did their own in-house printing.

Depends on the age: My 2-year-old is practicing saying "happy Daddy's Day," and will "sign" the card in her signature crayon. Also, doing a belated portrait.

I've had portraits done for fathers day a couple of times. The kids always make something in school. I'm giving him a watch this year, because he needs a new one. Tickets to a sporting event are usually appreciated. How about a bike trailer, child seat or a buddy bike so he can bike ride with the little one?
