My dad and husband both buy themselves just about anything they need, so I always try to get them something they wouldn't buy for themselves, like a chartered fishing trip, baseball tix w/perks - like in the Tiger's Den, golf outing with a fully stocked cooler w/snacks and drinks, and if I can't think of (or afford) something like that, I just get some kind of power tool, like a powerwasher, miter saw, etc - something they don't have and would like for their 'collection'! Good luck!

There is a place I believe it is in Shelby Township but not sure it is called Plaster Playhouse. Maybe the kids can make something for dad.

Hi K.,
I had a real hard time coming up with something for my husband too. What I came up with was a scrapbook page that I am going to frame that had only pictures of my husband with our daughter with little phrases like Daddy's little Girl, Love at First Sight, etc. Then I got him a family zoo memebership at the Toledo Zoo. That way our whole family can spend time together too. Maybe you can find something that will work around things that he likes to do, that the whole family can do with him! Good Luck

You can make up a trail mix and attach a note....Here are two notes I have used for the father's day trail mix.

a. Dear Dad, I made this trail mix for you. Each food was picked because of something special about you. There are marshmellow because you are a big softy, hershey’s hugs and kisses because I love you, gummy bears because I like to snuggle with you just like I do my teddy bear, raisins because you are raising me, gold fish crackers because you are the big fish in my sea, popcorn because you are my pop, Milky Ways because you are out of this would, smarties because that’s what you are, and a Lifesaver because you always save me when I need you! Happy Father’s Day! Love,
b. Dear Pop (Popcorn)I love you because you work so hard (raisin) me. I could go to (Mars) or search the (Milky Way) and never find a (Sugar Daddy) like you. Even tho' you're a big (marshmallow) and we like to (Snicker) I still think you're a (Smartie). Plus you're a (LifeSaver) when it comes to homework. Happy Father's Day. You're the biggest (fish -goldfish cracker) in my sea. (candy hearts) and (Hershey's kisses),
i. marshmallows.....a big softy
ii. hershey kisses....just because
iii. gummy bears.....a big teddy bear
iv. raisins 'because you're 'raisin' me',
v. gold fish crackers 'because you're the big fish in my sea',
vi. popcorn 'because you're my Pop'
vii. mini Milky Ways because you’re out of this world
viii. Smartie-because you’re smart
ix. Lifesaver-you’re always their to help

Hi K.,
I second the suggestion for winkflash.com. They are VERY reasonable (plus the price for their shipping is very cheap!). They do take a little bit longer so if you're ordering in time for fathers day you'll have to hurry. You can also do online scrap books and have them printed in hardcover, they are VERY nice and professional.

My Husband's birthday was two weeks ago. I bouth him a Detroit Tigers Jacket. It a Majestic Authentic Collection. I paid $112.00 on-line for the heavier version. They also have a windbreaker style that I think is around $60.00. Anyway, I had it delivered to the office and every guy that saw it just had to try it on! I had offers to buy it on the spot. My husband LOVES it.
So if your husband is a sports fan. You can't go wrong with this idea! I really had to search hard on the internet though.
I also saw them in the sports shop at Comerica Park.
It's a really good-looking jacket!

Hi, K.!

I discovered a great gift idea. When I was a kid, my dad and I would lie on the floor and watch Jerry Lewis movies or westerns. Mom wouldn't even bother (of course, she had 3 other kids to deal with). I just started buying DVDs of the old stuff I remember.

And when I found out his DVD player quit, I was set for this year and replaced it because I have many more gifts waiting to dole out.

Remember your relationship with him and go from there. The cheesier the better because he will remember the moment just like you did!

Good luck!

I go to this website called www.winkflash.com, you can upload your pics and order cool things like coffee cup, mouse pads, cutting boards and all sorts of stuff with any pic you want on it. My husband loves the travel mug with a pic of the family on it. GOOD LUCK

Something my husband looks forward to every year is a calendar
that Kinkos can do in 24 hours for $19.99. Each month is a different photograph supplied by me of our daughter and 2 cats.
It's now become a traditional Father's Day gift to him and each
year is a new set of 12 pictures.

Hi K.,

I am making my husband a scrapbook full of pictures of just him and our daughter. I have been taking pictures since she was born 11months ago so I am using pictures from birth until now with just him and her. I also got stickers from Michael's that say different daddy sayings such as you are my hero, just like daddy, you are the love of my life etc. I can't wait to give it to him. I actually bought a premade scrapbook because I have no idea what I am doing when it come to scrapbooking, LOL. GOod luck and let us know what you ended up doing.
