Father's Day Gift for Dad with Parkinsons

I am at a loss for ideas this year. My dear, sweet father has Parkinson's. His mobility over the past year has really gone down. He just isn't able to do a lot. He reads quite a bit and going to the library is one of the few times he and my mom get out of the house. I had thought about a Nook or Kindle, but I think they would prefer going to the library and they aren't comfortable with a lot of technology.

My sister is putting together a video of photos for him. So anything with photos is out (don't want her to feel like I took her idea) but I want it to be special. It has been a rough year for him and my mom dealing with the disease progression and I just want to do something special, but can't come up with any good ideas yet!!

What can I do next?

Why don't you record yourself reading his favorite book, in the event he can no longer read/hold the book due to his hand tremors ... You can do it onto a tape recorder and get him a cassette tape player for lack of technology :)
My sister has early onset first stage parkinson's and some days she can't write let a lone read, but she likes books on tape when her medication is not doing it's job.

How about a visit from you and bring dinner w/all of his favorite foods?
A framed picure of you and your sister when you were kids. (Oh never mind....just re-read your post about your sister's photo idea.)
His favorite cookies and/or candy?
Does he like a particular magazine?
His favrorite ice cream?
I wouldn't buy the Nook or Kindle so they can continue to go to the library plus if he's like my dad....he doesn't favor new technology.
Lottery tickets
If he wasn't born in this city, a copy of the newspaper from his town.
Does he need reading glasses?
Time spent w/him is the best gift! :)

What about a book store gift card?
New slippers?
A book-on-CD series?
I've heard they are researching use of the Wii for patients with Parkinsons--would that apply?

How about a 1st edition or signed copy of a book he loves or a book he used to read to you. A signed edition of Where The Sidewalk Ends, or The Giving Tree with a hand written note telling him how you feel about him tucked inside passwould be a beautiful sentimental gift.

A month or 2 to netflix.

Magazine subscription.

Books on CD so they can listen to them while riding in the car or just sitting at home. There is actually a company like Netflix that will send the CD's to him through the mail.

We give our dads really nice steaks, with huge potatoes good bread.. So they can grill them up themselves.

A membership to a local museum. Movie passes, Gift cards to restaurants. Tickets to some sort of performance.

Many times it is a scheduled time to spend together.. Like I will take my dad to breakfast.. He loves going out for a giant breakfast. So we plan to do this together alone.
