A large, well-controlled British study about a year ago proved that some kids do become hyper after consuming several common food dyes and preservatives. And allergies could be a problem, too.
We don't eat fast food much but I have noticed in 3 or 4 occasions that right after eating fast food, my daughter would go into a terrible screaming spell. She would not act like herself at all. She will completely ignore us and just keep throwing tantrums for about an hour. This only happens after she's had fast food. Has anyone else noticed reactions like this to fast food? Since then, we've avoided it and there hasn't been a problem. She doesn't have any health problems and behaves like a regular 3 yr old.
Good. So it's not just me. I've seen Food, Inc, etc. I mean, it can't be just coincidence that she's a drastically different person after eating fast food. It's so bad that I think fast food should be banned! People are worried about vaccinations but nobody's talking about the effects of fast food on children.

It might be the sugar. The hotcake breakfast at McD's has more sugar than the cinnamon roll....check out this site

and you can search specific fast food chains and the amt of all ingredients. Very interesting!
You've already gotten your answer from your daughter: just stop feeding it to her. While my family didn't have behavior problems, there were migraines, vomitting, and dizziness. We watched "Super Size Me" and have not been to a burger stand since. We may eat food from Pizza Hut or Subway. Pretty much it. Make our own fast food at home.
Not just possible but very probable!
Fast food has so many chemicals it really isn't "food." I have a children's cheeseburger meal from a fast food place that is 3 years old. It looks like you could eat it today! You can identify the pickle, the cheese, the ketchup everything. The fries too look like you can just pick them up and eat them.
There is a saying that if it doesn't rot or sprout, throw it out!
i think is because averythig is very proccesed and have a lot of additive i just was reading the other day ,the macnuggets has at least 30 ingredients is not all chicken .
and all that food is very poor in nutrients and high in fat and calories.
High fat, sugar and calorie content, loads of sodium, processed and fried. Doesn't sound like a meal that would make me feel good! :)
Would not surprise me whatsoever.
Fast food is mostly what I call "FrankenFood."
Please rent (Netflix?) or check out from the library the movie "Food, Inc."
We used to eat fast food constantly until we discovered our child's numerous food allergies (including chicken and wheat - which constituted most of his diet, besides sugar). Needless to say he is a 1000% healthier.
If you ever buy organic produce you will notice how much faster it goes "bad." Tells you something about regular food . . . (i.e., what it must be filled with).
good for you for paying attention to potential causes, and sharing your observations! i hope more parents will wake up to this.

I agree, very possible. I know when I haven't had fast food in a while, then eat it, I am a very unhappy camper! Just had McD's the other day, and it was ALL salt. We were all not well after that lunch. Taught me my lesson.
I have noticed with my five, that healthy food does keep us all on track, health wise, behavior wise as well as mood wise. What we eat does affect our disposition. Good luck.
Very possible. There are a lot of additives in fast food. It sounds like your daughter may have a food intollerance to something that she is eating there.
That doesn't surprise me. Fast food is not food at all. My friend has a happy meal that is ten years old. She keeps it in her garage here in TX where it gets very hot. She pulls it out when she does nutrition presentations. The only thing that is deteriorating is the bag.
Also when we had cub scout meetings in our home. The boys who showed up with their McDonald's for dinner were always by far the worst behaved.
