I wanted to know if anyone knew any farms/ petting zoo/pumpkin patch type places. My friend and I are planning on taking our Kids to old Mac Donalds farm but whe I went there 2 years ago it was not all that great. This year it cost 8 bucks a head to get in. I am wondering if they have made any improvements or not. Anyhow we are willing to travel a bit so any suggestions in the houston area would be great. TIA

Dewberry farm does not have a petting zoo, but is a large working farm with lots of activities. It is $12 to get in and many of the activities are an additional cost. I've been taking my kids every year since they were 7 and they love it. Lots to do for all ages.
We took my older son & niece to Dewberry when they were about 2 & 4, then took them the next year too. They LOVED it! We didn't make it last year b/c I was pregnant, but hoping to go this year with the little one.
It is a bit pricey, though as others have said, once you pay $12/pp + additional for other activities.
The company my dad worked for used to have their company picnics at the Oil Ranch, and it was pretty cool. But it's been nearly 20 years since I've been out there (always scary when you can say that! LOL) so I'm not sure what it's like now.
I have heard good things about dewberry. There is also the oilranch out off of 2920 and 290.
Dewberry Farms out of Brookshire is suppose to be good - I have never gone but last year my church's preschool went. It might be a bit pricey. They have a website.
We've gone here http://www.tgrexotics.com a few times. Its in Spring off Spring stuebner. My daughter loves the animals and painting the little pumpkins.
