We're wanting to buy an AWD vehicle that will have enough room for 3 carseats in the back. My oldest *may* be big enough for a booster by next winter, but I don't want to count on it. So, what all-wheel drive or 4X4 do you drive with 3 kids? Trucks are out, Vans are ok, but an SUV or crossover would be better. Thanks mamas!!

What can I do next?

GMC Acadia. (Crossover) LOVE IT! Love it even more every day I drive it. Go drive one. You will see why. Trust me! The BEST crossover on the market (well, the Buick Enclave is pretty nice too. SAME vehicle, just a little fancier).

05' Chevy Suburban

and it's THE best car I have ever owned!

It is safe, reliable, great in the snow and drives like a luxury sedan...seriously, it reminds me of driving my Grandma's Caddy or my Uncle's old Lincoln.

And talk about leg room and cargo space!!!

Take one for a test drive...you will see...and the newer models look so much better than my year!

~I have 3 kids of my own ages 7, 5 & 3 and then I have a couple of stepsons that have had to fit too ages 19 & 16 and then I have a couple of nephews who practically live with us ages 15 & 11....we all fit!

***Just read your from Spokane, that's where I am at now...we get a good amount of snow and this is a great snow car...makes you less frightened of other bad drivers when you are bigger than them;)

We have a 2010 Journey - AWD & third row seat. So far we love it, gets about 18 mpg on average (combination city & freeway driving). I have three kids, 13, 4.5 and 3. They can all fit into the second row, but having that extra seat behind really helps. We have even taken 7 on a road trip to Yakima complete with luggage. It was a bit tight, but we made it.

LOVE my 2006 mitsibishi Montero Limited. It has a pop up third seat and I can do 3 boosters in the 2nd row or 2 carseats. I can do 2 boosters or two carseats in the third row seat too. 4 wheel drive and very good on gas. Easy to keep clean too and with the third seat up, you can store stuff in the floor and still have room for a small stroller in the back or 6-7 bags of groceries. My only complaint is no cup holders in the second row and no MP3 aux input for my iphone!! Otherwise it is perfect and I am gonna drive it till it falls apart!! Can't find another vehicle I like more.

Love my new Chevy Suburban!!! We have 3 kids and had a van previously. As the kids got bigger so did their stuff. Wished we would have skipped the mid-size and gone straight to the SUV years ago.

Also, my sister-n-law has a newer Subaru Outback SUV. It's very roomy and AWD.

I've got an '02 Chevy Tahoe and LOVE it! Its really not as bad on gas as most people think. I have seating for 9 people and have had 5 car/booster seats in at once. You can put 3 in the middle row, or split them up between the middle and the 3rd row.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, my excursion - but it is definately a gas guzzler.....but there is tons of room even in the 3rd seat we have had 3 full grown men back there with plenty of room and no complaining. They are always amazed at how much room there is in it!
