Hi,
We are having our second baby and my husband is really tall so we cannot fit 2 car seats in our back seats. I have looked into mini vans and am between the odyssey and the Sienna,. I am also open to other 7 passenger crossovers. Just wondering if anyone has a family vehicle that they love and would recommend? Just too many options and choices. Thanks.

What can I do next?

We love our Sienna.

The Odyssey and Sienna are bot good though. I suggest you test drive both and get whichever one makes you & your husband feel happier. : )

I've never owned a Sienna or Odyssey but I have many friends who love both of them. Definitely test drive them. I was all set to buy a Sienna and then realized I love to parallel park and doing that with a van totally intimidated me.

We ended up with a RAV4 which we totally love. We have the design that is before the current one so we can only seat five people. But the new ones have an option for an additional row in the back, increasing the capacity to 7. (I have got to say we LOVE the second row of seats which recline and move forward and back just like the front seats. Our 14-year-old has been able to recline, and rest while still having his seatbelt on, for years.)

We also have friends who have Highlanders and they love them as well. It all depends on what you're looking for. But you can't go wrong with Toyota. They're pretty much the only kind of car I'll buy.

Just to add one more to the mix, we have a Honda Pilot and love it! There is plenty of room and has sufficient third row seating, but having down lends a ton of space in the back!

Love, love, love my Honda Odyssey!! Got ours "used" (it had 2,000 miles on it) fully loaded -- best of all the minivans we have had in the past 20 years.

I love our Oddessy, I test drove a ton oh minivans and this was buy far my fav. I am kinda tall (5'11") and can sit in the back seat comfortably. I have had mine for a year and have dont have any complaints or anything I would change. I am actually looking forward to upgrading to the newer modle in a couple of years (love the split screen tv that they come with now). I got almost everything with mine except navigation. They charge an additional $2000 on sitcker price for that and we can get a Garmin for way cheaper and use it for other vehicles. I also love that the middle seats have options for how you can set them up. We are expecting our 2nd and we are just taking the middle small seat out and having a walk through for cnter section. Back up camera is wonderful and my daughetr loves the DVD player (has helped on many a road trip :) If you have any specific ?s feel free to message me

We have two kids and are planning a 3rd. Even if you have 2, once you get to carpooling and picking up your kids' friends, you need room for more booster seats, so you need the space. I LOVE my Odyssey!! The EX (their mid-level) has great features, and the seat configuration is terrific. The third row flips down really easily and when it's down is flush to the floor for tons of space. Then getting it back up is a snap. It drives really well, good handling and responsive, and it's very comfortable. I dreaded making the leap to a minivan, but I couldn't be happier with it. Good luck with the delivery :)!

We replaced our dodge grand caravan with an 07 Sienna and we love it. It has taken us to and from Disney, Michigan, New Hamshire, all over! I like the way it drives more like a car than a truck.

Our family got a Ford Flex earlier this year and love it. It is beyond roomy. My husband is 6'1 and if he putts the drivers seat all the way back he can not touch the peddles. The second row of seats, we have a bench seat, sits adults very comfortably. Stadium seating gives lots of leg room, I and granparents have sat back there with no issues. My 3 girls love it, especially my oldest who sits in the 3rd row and doesn't have to be stuck between her sisters anymore. I highly recommend this car.

My husband is 6'6" and we have two kids, 3 1/2 yrs. and 10 1/2 months. Yep, we don't fit into regular cars either! We just got the 2011 Jeep Wrangler 4 door. We all fit comfortably (my husband can even wear a hat without it hitting the ceiling), and our yellow lab fits in the back, too. And, of course, my husband totally LOVES his new Jeep! You can get it loaded (heated leather seats, touch screen GPS, satellite radio, etc.) or bare bones (four wheels and an engine), with the extra and super cool bonus of being able to take the top off in the summer (not sure how THAT is going to work with a baby!). Hope that helps give an extra idea! Good luck.

Don't buy a Kia, have had 2 and nothing but problems. Can't go wrong with Honda and Toyota! Get a quote with the VIN thru your agent to see how much your insurance will be, that may be the deciding factor! Congrats and good luck!

I had a Sienna for over 10 years and loved it - only had to change the oil, new tires, and break pads - cheapest vehicle I ever owned. So I just bought another Sienna, of course! I have to say that it is heavy, and I feel safe. We got hit from behind in our old van many years ago, and the frame took the entire impact - no one in the van was hurt - including 4 children. It is a very safe car with alot of room with a dependable engine - I highly recommend one.

I have a Sienna and I love it! I was never much of a minivan person before, but after having baby #2 and wanting to carpool with someone to get my daughter to preschool, I had to get something bigger since I couldn't fit another car seat in my SUV. I can't say enough about the features in this minivan. They have seriously thought of everything and we have so much space now. I don't think you could go wrong with either of the options you mentioned, but I happen to have a Sienna and really like it. Good luck and happy shopping! I'm sure you'll be thrilled with whichever you choose.

Check out the new 2011 odyessy. So perfect for a new baby-they have made the middle seat big enough to hold a carseat. No other minivan has this capability. It can also be moved up to be closer to the front seat for better access to your baby. You can fit 3 carseats now in the middle row. There is also a cold storage in front.

Hi R.,
I have not seen anyone suggest the Acadia yet. Both my husband and I are tall people and our twin girls ride in large car seats (britax). I was a loyal Jeep (Grand Cherokee) owner for years until the twins arrived and then it seemed no one fit. I went looking for an Envoy but just wasn't impressed with them and then my hubby and I just about tripped over the GMC Acadia on the lot and it won my vote hands down! I have had it for three years now and even as the girls get bigger we never run out of space.
