What about noxzema? I used that when I was young until I needed something for acne.
Also, and this isn't what you really asked....but her desire to use a "facewash" should not outweigh her sensitive skin needs. Cetaphil *is* a facewash ;o)
hello moms,
this is the first time i have asked a question. my daughter is 9 and she is expresssing an interest in washing her face each night with facewash.
she has eczema and sensitive skin.
right now she uses cetiphil (spelling sorry) soap but she would like one that is a true facewash
any ideas?
thank you all for the responses. i am going to be doing some research from the sites that were provided this weekend.
thank you again, will be for sure asking future questions :):)

"Neutrogena Extra gentle wash" is the best and won't dry her skin out.
I'm a big fan of Purpose. It's really gentle, yet it gets all of my makeup off. I think you can buy it in a bar, or get the pump (the one I use).
My daughter and I both use noxzema. I've also heard clinque makes a very good product.
You can try this

Hope this helps
What about Dove soap followed by SeaBreeze for sensitive skin?
Personally, I like St. Ives Moisturizing Olive Cleanser but if she gets it into her eyes, it will burn! (I have an 8.5 year old who in no way, shape or form would I trust to keep his eyes shut tight!)
Cetaphil face wash is EXACTLY what our dermatologist recommends for our teenage kids! You can get it as a face wash not just a regular wash.
If she were mine, I would probably buy her something from this brand...
DermaE: http://www.dermae.com/fc_portals/cgi-bin/fccgi.exe?w3exec...
HTH!
Phisoderm.
They make a face wash.
I even use it.
Not expensive.
Easily found at drugstores or grocery stores.
Gentle.
My 9 year old uses it sometimes, too.
Go to:
www.phisoderm.com
At 9 she probably doesn't really need a facial wash but if you are looking for something natural instead of man made I would recommend checking out this site www.healthybeautyproject.com or www.healthybeautysocial.com
They give information on natural based products that are better for skincare than some of the things you would find at your local drugstore that contain petrolatum and other products that may irritate her skin further.
Just wanted to say to be very careful with the DermaE brand if you go with that. I loved their products for a long time until I had a terrible reaction (face swollen to the point my eyes were swollen shut) I sent several questions to the company via email and they NEVER responded. I wasnt threatening lawsuits or anything, just asking if others had experienced similar reactions and what to do about it. I also contacted vitacost, where I purchased them and they told me to contact DermaE. Long story short, my fix was to not use them anymore!
I now use almost all origins products and I love them. Their facewash lasts forever because you only need a tiny dab for your whole face (less than a pea size). I have friends that use clinique and love them too.
I use cetaphil, but I also use Purpose which was recommended by my dermatologist. You can find it at Target. It works great and is gentle.
Dermatologists recommend Cetaphil and Purpose... both are very mild and good.
My daughter uses Clinique and loves it. She has a wash from Sephora that she uses if she is having any breakout... I forgot the name.. It is about $28 and in a pink/black box. She also uses the Clinique acne wash for breakouts.
We both use all Clinique products and swear by them. I am 49, I've been using Clinique since I was about 11 faithfully and I pass for early 30's. Now, take into consideration, I have good habits, good genes, drink a lot of water and use sunscreen. Daughter is 16 and has the same faithful routine I have with her skin care as well. She's been using Clinique since she was at least 9 maybe earlier.
Clinique stands by their products and if you don't like it, you can get your money back.
If you have a Sephora close to you, they have samples of several things including Clinique and you can try them.
It is never too late to get started with a good skin care routine!
