I have the hardest time finding the motivation as well as just the right method of working out...I am looking for a 30 minute work out video that would be maybe fun but not so challenging that I won't want to do it (I haven't worked out in almost a year for gosh sakes!)...any suggestions are appreciated!

What can I do next?

Start with fast walking.
Then do walk jog, walk jog.
Try different videos. I liked Denise Austin (oldie but a goodie).

Get a treadmill. (find a decently priced one).

Start w/just walking right now. Anything helps.

Do some free weights at home.

Do pushups, tricep dips, squats and abs at home.

Turn on your favorite music & dance for 30 mins. Don't stop.

Jump rope.

Starte w/something then increase duration & intensity.

The main thing?: Get moving. Get off the couch. Get your heart rate up, etc.

YOU CAN DO IT!

I've been loving the 10 minute workout series. I just patch together 2 or 3 workouts, depending on time available. I like the cardio burn and the kick boxing.

Tae Bo with Billy Blanks all the way. These videos are old but the only ones that I did consistently. He has all levels available.

Enjoy!

Check out your local library - that way you can try it before buying anything.
I was thinking about the 10 minute videos. I think I could commit to that :)

Jillian Michaels Beginner Frontside and beginner backside. They are not like the other Jillian DVDs - these start out slow and each DVD is split up into 6 parts so you can work your way up. All you need is a resistance band.
You can then slowly move on to her 30 min DVDs. (30 day shred and ripped in 30).
I too like you needed something to just get started and not too hard. The Jillian beginner DVDs were great and I've just kept moving up. Been doing DVDs and moving up to harder ones for almost 2 years now.

Good luck!!
