*Edited* Should I Wake the Baby??

This is a right now question, so hopefully I find some mamas up! Anyway, my three month old had a weird day and didn't nap quite right. So around 5ish he was really tired, so tired he had a little trouble falling asleep, it took him like 5 minutes as opposed to his usually instant zonk out. So now it's just after 10:30 and he is a little scrumpy. But I am not sure if it is like I am about to wake up and scream scrumpy or just I am trying to get a little extra comfy scrumpy. He will probably wake to eat at like 4ish and I am fine with that and then snooze after that for a while. But I did go in and turn on his nightlight on his mobile and his little lullabies that the mobile plays and nothing. Now he just looks super cozy, I rubbed his back a few times and still, super duper cozy. So what would you do? He did go down about 1.5 hrs earlier than usual, so I don't want to leave him hungry, and I don't want to lay down and crash only to be woken up officially in 10 minutes. So I was thinking that I might should get him up, changed, fed and put back down and then crash myself, but then waking a sleeping baby just goes against my mommy gut... so now I am doodling on mamapedia pondering my situation, any advice?

What can I do next?

Unless there is an emergency (Like your house is on fire)... NEVER EVER wake a sleeping baby. EVER!!!

Once I had to wake my son up early from his nap so we could make it to an appointment that I had forgotten about... He woke up a few times during each night for about a week after that (He normally sleeps all night long)... I swear he was doing it on purpose to get revenge on me. He can just wake up and zonk right back out. I on the other hand have to toss and turn for a little bit before I can fall back asleep.

Never wake a contentedly sleeping baby. He may fuss around or wiggle a bit, but that's not the same as waking up.
Both of my kids slept through the night from practically brand new. They were very alert during the day, but they slept at night.
What a blessing!
If your baby gets hungry, he will let you know.
The other great advice I got and practiced....sleep when your baby sleeps. Especially at night.
My son was a very wiggly baby. Even as a newborn, he could scootch himself around without ever actually waking up.
As he got a bit older, he would make use of every inch of his crib rolling and moving around. He slept through all of it though.
As he gets older, your son will change his sleeping patterns and might be a little more wiggly or make sounds. If he's sleeping....let him.

Get some sleep for yourself.

Best wishes.

Let him sleep!

My friend told me that when my son was a baby.
Boy, was she right & that piece of advice was a godsend!

He'll wake when he's hungry!

Let him lead the way..

Also know he could be going through some sort of growth spurt, teething.. yes this young.. or just able to stay awake longer now, which will mean more sleep.

If he looks cozy leave him. Never wake a sleeping babe! He'll let you know if he needs something or is hungry don't worry! Enjoy your quiet moments when you can :)

What has worked for us for the past 6 years is our mantra. NEVER WAKE THE BABY. OK, thinking back we would have woken him if there was a fire - but really, not - we just would have picked him up and gotten out - not really waking.

As my grandmother always said, "Honey, you NEVER wake a sleeping baby!" (Of course for those that have preemies and such that doesn't apply.) Hope you had a good night's sleep.

Do a dream feed---wake him just enough to nurse, change his diaper, get his pj's on and then lay him back down. Don't worry about when he wakes up--if its 4am, then thats fine.....but let him sleep if he needs to--just wake him up enough to eat.
