Ectopic Pregnancy - Mira Loma,CA

I am interested in hearing what symptoms any one had with an ectopic pregnancy. For the most part the internet says pain and bleeding...that is pretty vague. I have had a tubal and I am experiencing pain on my left side near my ovary. It started intermittent, but now is steady (not incapacitating) and radiating to my back. I will be calling my doctor Monday morning, but I am looking for personal experiences today. Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

My doc said it was probably a cyst. She wants me to take a low dose birth control for a few months to get my periods back n track. I'll see how that goes.

I had two ectopic pregnancies in 2006, and the doctor told me that it is an internal bleeding situation and could be fatal. I let the first one go and didn't go to the doctor for 3 weeks because I didn't know what it was. It turned out fine, but I think he was trying to impress upon me that internal bleeding is extremely serious. I would go to the doctor right away.

It sounds more like ovulation pain, known as Mittelschmerz. Of course, I have no idea if you still ovulate after a tubal - I assume you know the answer to that! LOL! If you do, I'd bet money this is what it is. I experience severe ovulation pain lasting longer than "they" say it should (in fact I'm seeing the Dr. next month about it) and your description fits it to a tea.

Please let us know how things go with your Dr.

I have also had a tubal and my doctor said that if I even think I might be pregnant that it is a medical emergancy. If you even suspect that it might be an ectopic pregnancy you should really get it checked out sooner rather than later. I think every experience is different so symptoms between women may vary, if it gets worse go to the emergency room! Most likely it is something else, those symptoms could be related to a whole number of different ailments, but better to be safe than sorry.

With my ectopic pregnancy, I had no noticeable symptoms until I was in such pain that we rushed to the emergency room. I had just finished (that day!) having what seemed like a normal period, and the pain started in my back. I thought it was a pulled muscle. I spent an entire day trying to lessen the pain with over the counter meds, but it got worse, moved forward, and seemed to settle inside my hip. It honestly felt like the hip socket was corroding. It was the worst pain I've ever had - it makes labor look like a walk in the park.

If you're ever worried, take a pregnancy test and/or get to the doctor immediately. If it's a weekend or after hours, go to the ER.

Good luck! :)
