Do any of the moms NOT use antibiotics for an ear infection? If so, what do you use to ease the discomfort other than Tylnol or Ibuprofin?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all your great advise. We have a chiro app set up and I went to walmart and got the drops. Time will tell.

I do warm compresses to the ear, tylenol, garlic oil, and my doc gave us a perscription for a drop that eases pain. also chiropractor and cranial sacral. lots of rest, too. My 15 month old has had about 6 ear infections....We didn't do antibiotics for 3 of them and she was able to kick them. and i give her something really rubbery to chew on to try and open the tube.

I usually go to the chiropractor and get them adjusted, they usually have drops you can use in their ears. Also I believe it is warm wash clothes ease the pain.

Hi N.
If you go to walmart in the vitamin isle they have Hylands ear drops. They are also the ones that make the teething tablets.

I use garlic oil and mullein drops. I tested them on myself first and they did cure a nasty ear infection. They took away the pain too. I have used them a few times on my son to prevent a possible infection or to ease ear pain.
I am not totally against antibiotics if they are totally needed or the child is in severe pain. Antibiotics are hard on the body but you can bounce back by using probiotic supplements after the dose is done.
I totally agree with the previous poster about the chiropractor. It does help to drain the eustatian tubes with an adjustment. Also, massaging the eustatian tubes can ease pain and accelerate healing.
