My husband and I are insearch of a better Pediatrician. The one we have now is always behind schedule and always seems rushed during visits. We have heard great things about both peds. and are right now trying to make a descision. Any feedback/info about either ped. would be greatly appreciated. A recommendation would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thanks for the help!

We just started seeing Dr. Schnell last month after switching from our original pediatrician. Her office was on time, the nurses were great with our little ones (age 26 months and 15 months)and Dr. Schnell asked lots of questions to get to know us. She was positive and did not get freaked out by our son being underweight and under height for his age, which was something we struggled with when we would visit our former pediatrician. Overall an excellent first experience and both the doctor and office staff made us feel that if we needed anything from them in between visits, they were there to help.

Good Morning L.,
I have 4 kids the youngest is 10 months and has a multicystic kidney. My oldest is 15 and incurred a brain injury form a fractured skull. My next oldest is 13 and is a leukemia survivor who suffers from migraines. I also have a 10 year old who so far has escaped any major medical issues : ) I don't tell you all of this for sympathy. I have found Pediatric Consultants in Naperville to be top notch for us. I'm not sure where you live, but they also have begun an office in Plainfield.

What I like about them is:
* Always on time (there was once that they were behind but just a bit.)
* Doctors take their time and don't rush us.
* Doctors are able to recognize what is beyond their scope of care.
* They are sensitive to your needs not just the physical but what emotionally is best for your family.
* Office staff is pleasant, helpful, and welcoming.
* Nurses are nurturing, listen well, and call back promptly.
* You can get a same day appointment.
* They are great and promt about any paperwork you need.
* At the Naperville location there is a lab right next door.

I currently travel 45 minute to an hour because of the above care we get. We are excited about the Plainfield location that is much closer. Currently in Plainfield they are only there on Friday. Beginning April 13th they will be there full time also. I hope this helps you.

Take Care,
M.

Hi L.! I switched to Dr. Natalie's office about 3 years ago. I have a 5, 4, and 2yr old and I could not be happier with the whole office. And this winter I feel like we've been there a bunch:) Dr. Natalie has been so patient with myself and my kids. She ALWAYS speaks with them directly (I can't stand when dr's only speak to the parent and ignore the child), and has a way of helping them feel comfortable. I never feel rushed, or like my concerns are'nt important. Her nurse practitioner Christina is also wonderful. I have also seen the male doctor (cant remember his name-starts with a B i think) but he is also great! They also call back quickly when called after hours, and always seem happy to help.
I have never had a problem getting them in asap when they are sick either.
I don't think you could go wrong with any doctor in that practice. They seem to work together as such a great team.

Are you looking for info on these two peds? I can tell you that both are the best. Natalie is my neighbor, best friend, sits on my board for Celebrate Differences, a non for profit for kids with special needs and she has been my ped for 5 years. They are both great peds - both advocates for children. I am a RN and can tell you that they are very respected by the hospital staff as well.
Thanks
R.

Don't know either. Dr. Jim Webb and Dr. Lo at Apple A Day Peds in Oswego are great! Can't say enough good things about them. I work for them and my children have been seeing them for years.

oh my lord - i do not have enough good things to say about Dr. natalie. We recently switched to her practice after she literally saved my baby's life during an inpatient stay at Rush for RSV. Our previous peds would have happily let my child starve to death - the group approach to practice works GREAT for kids with no health issues - it is HORRID for kids who NEED to have consistency.
I love that we see Dr. Natalie EVERY time, and she is NEVER rushed. She came in one visit and said - "phew! busy day! i have 33 urgent messages, but what's going on with your baby day!" - and you would never know she had other urgent things going on. we were her ONLY priority right then and there.
we have never waited longer than ten minutes for our appointment. The nurses are all helpful and in good moods (can't say that for our previous practice), and Dr. Natalie is SOOOOO responsive to any and all concerns i may have as a mother. She thoroughly answers questions I have, even if i am asking the same question ten different ways. She explains what she is thinking, why she thinks that, and what she hopes the end result will be - you are involved in the entire process for any healthcare your child needs beyond well child visits. She has an extensive network of specialists to whom she has NO problem referring kids beyond her scope of knowledge, and seems to stay very up to date with the latest trends going on in the chicagoland medical community.
i LOVE her.
I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone.
