Downtown Dallas & Toddler Activity

I have to make a quick trip to downtown Dallas one morning and have to bring my toddler with me. After my errand, can you think of any place I could take her for just a little bit to make the trip fun for her? I don't mean anywhere big or expensive like the Aquarium, just somewhere that she will appreciate.

What can I do next?

My husband works downtown, so we go there a few times a year for lunch. My kids love to eat lunch at the Avenue of the Americas. We watch people ice skate. get their shoes shined and go up the glass elevators. They love to play near the fountains around Nasher. They love to listen to the bells at the Cathedral. Your daughter really might just enjoy the people watching. It's good fun and free.
The Museum of Art does have a kiddie area where they can explore things. But that will cost money.

The aquarium at fair park is a favorite of my 2 year old twins. It is small but just right for their attention span, and you can walk around the fair grounds and see the water fountains and flowers. Plus, it is cheap -- I think only $3 or something like that.

My son, now nine, has loved Farmers Market since toddlerhood. Therea are tons of things to look at, flowers, food, fruit to sample, and vendors of all kinds. Best of all it's free to browse! Fridays will be the most lively, but they are open on a smaller scale M-TH.
