My husband gets them from www.gomusicnow.com
Can anyone recommend a website I can download music for free or a reasonable price AND is safe? I have a bunch of songs I'd like to put on a cd. Thanks gals!

I use Amazon. They aren't free, but are reasonably priced.

I wouldn't do that. That's technically stealing music. Nothing is free. Those websites are sometimes sued by record companies and they have to hand over the names/IP (computer) addresses of the customers that downloaded the "free" music. Regular people have been sued for doing this.
You can buy downloadable songs from iTunes (itunes.com) for a cheap price per song.... older songs are usually 99 cents each.... newer ones $1.29 each.
The artists that make these songs are producing a product ... so they are entitled to get paid for their work. We wouldn't go to the store and steal a candy bar off the shelf. So stealing music isn't right either.
You can download MP3 files from Walmart.com for as low as $0.64.
Itunes is cheap and you can pay for Napster. Limewire.com also has a version you can pay for. That's the one most people I know use.
Definitely no to limewire. Our previous computer crashed 2 days after we received our new one because of limewire. I use walmart.com and I love it. They are not much at all and you can buy an entire album for sometimes as low as $5.
I don't know that I would trust limewire.com. My friend's girls were using that site and it ended up locking their computer down with a bunch of viruses. The tech that fixed her computer said they all came about because of limewire.com.
