Do not use limewire. It ruined my computer and several other people's that I know. I opens you up for viruses. Call Best Buy and talk to the Geek Squad to verify what it does. They may also have safe suggestions for you.
I am looking for a few songs to download onto my iPod, but several artist are not available through iTunes--and I don't want the whole cd from their personal website...is there another reliable site for downloading music that I could check? Thanks!

sk; you can get them from lots of places, research torrent on the net, and utorrent is one of the better downloading program for torrents which is peer to peer file sharing, bittorrent and piratebay are websites wehre you can do torrent searches to find specific things you want,, just be cautious of virus's as you search, also google indexes is nice and easy. at jimmyr.com he has a mp3 search of google indexes, you have to look around to find what you want very low risk of spy ware, as with anything caution is to be exercised, i got that from my son, so i wll pick more of his brain if you need more, D. s

**I see a suggestion for MP3 rocket as well. Please be aware that it is no different from livewire except they charge you a one time fee. Don't think that one time fee covers anything, it doesn't. If you download any copy written songs from either of these is is illegal. If you choose to go the route that can cost you in the future you may as well go with livewire since it is free.**
Realize if you use Limewire that is is illegal and if you are ever caught that fees range from $3,000-$11,000. Not worth it if you ask me.

I've used Napster and Kazaa. For some reason I can't get Kazaa downloaded. My son uses Limewire. There's Rhapsody.
My son and I have used Limewire for a couple of years and have no problems with it.
D.
Try Limewire. It is a free service and I have never had any problems with the downloads.
there's emusic.com and walmart.com
Use kickasstorents.com and utorrent so u can dowload whole albums or 1 song
I use limewire. It's free and easy and legal.
I swear by limewire.com
Good luck and enjoy
we used limewire for quite a long time but a firewall was blocking it so i uninstalled that and i heard about frostwire very similar and free.I have had no problems.Of course with all download programs you need to watch for viruses.
Be careful of limewire. My husband used it and we got a virus. My computer hasn't been the same since.
You might want to try Amazon.com.
You can go to MP3rocket.com they have a subscription that is around $35 for lifetime. They have music, movies, games, and tv. We have used it for over 3 years now and there is a wide variety of music and some movies are available before they are even out of the theaters.
There's quite a few sites out there. One that I use and trust is Amazon. You can just search Amazon mp3 and you'll end up in their mp3 store. The other place I've bought mp3s from is Rhapsody, but I think you have to download the Rhapsody player to do that.
you can download tons of music for free from limewire.com
