I think you'd do better to get the sit and stand stroller. It won't look weird if you only have one in there and it's more compact and easier to use.

So I am looking at a the BOB revolution double stroller for when baby number two is born. Both of my sisters have it and LOVE it. My only problem is my DS will be four when the baby is born so I afraid I going to spend a bunch of money on this stroller and won't end up using it because DS is to old for a stroller. So my question for you ladies is at what age did you child/children stop using/needing a stroller? I don't use a stroller all that often now except for on long excursions so I'm wondering if it is worth spending the money on a double stroller? Thanks for the advice!!

I pretty much quit using our stroller with my oldest when she was about 2.5. We use it occasionally now, but the wagon more often when we go to the Fair or whatnot. You might consider a sit and stand stroller instead or a standing platform that you can attach to any regular stroller. That might be a better match for your older one that will probably want to walk more.
Congrats on the new baby1 I have the Baby Jogger City Select for 2 and love it, but my oldest isn't even 3 yet and he would rather walk most of the time. I now wish I had heeded others' advice and just bought a sit and stand.
My daughter is 4 now, and I don't know the last time she went into her stroller, I am just hanging on to it till we go to Disney in Feb, and than its gone!!
Congrats on number 2!!
when I had my second son my 1st had just turned 3. We went back and forth as to whether it would be a wise investment to buy a double stroller and decided against it. My three year old (and he had JUST turned three 2 weeks before brother was born) did just fine walking along with us while baby went in the stroller. There were a few times that he would say his legs were tired so we would hold the baby and push him around for 5 minutes and then he would walk again.
I say, your 1st child is 4...plenty old enough to walk. Besides! The more they walk, the better they sleep. lol

I have the same one! Got it when my kids were about 4 and 2ish. They are 5 and 8 and dare I say.... I still use it at times! It always goes to Disneyland, Zoo, etc.. it's a place to keep stuff and a place for them to sit and relax in the shade. My 4yo was not too old. I used to walk the kids to preschool and I also did StrollerStrides so it was a must for that.
Love love love my BOB! I should give it to a friend who needs it more or sell it but I just can't part with it.
Most 4-5 year olds will happily sit in a stroller occasionally for long walks or trips to the zoo, but you'll never get one to stay in the stroller through the mall or the library. Chances are, you are mostly doing things your preschooler will want to be out of a stroller for. Also, you will be hitting the weight limit in the next year or two. Your little one will need a stroller for the next 3 years...how comfortable will you be pushing around a double stroller with just one kid in it?
I have a BOB Duallie and I love it BUT...I use it for running. With a 4 year old, if you don't run it would be a very expensive investment and you may wish to consider alternatives.
we also got a sit and stand and other than Disneyland and maybe 4 other walks we never use it. IDK if I would spend that kinda $$ but maybe look for something used.
We have a sit and stand stroller. It think it's great for kids that only need a stroller sometimes (ages 3-5). My oldest is 5 and never uses a stroller, but did up until baby #3 was born. Maybe you could get a sit and stand--they're only $150 and perfect for kids who are about ready to outgrow a stroller.
I would get a sit and stand stroller. 4 is too old to be sitting in a stroller in my opinion.
I use it more to confine the older one (2.5yo) than anything. When I need to tend to the baby and can't worry about chasing DS, I strap him in.
We have a City Jogger Micro Double and it's awesome. Paid about $200.
Great question...totally personal preference! My kids are 3 years and 4 months apart. When we had the second, we opted to not get a double (we figured we would wait to see if we would want it, and then get it, rather than invest right away). I decided that when the baby was really little, I could use the Ergo if we were someplace that my son would be in the stroller...He really very rarely sat in the stroller post baby being born, so I never felt the need to use a double - and am glad that I didn't invest! I can't imagine a 4 year old sitting in a stroller much (We have even taken two trips to disney world since baby was born - one single stroller was perfect for us).
IMO, it would be a serious waste of $$.
I think you are right in that your 4 yr old would be too old for it.
