Do you want a jogging stroller to actually run with or just for convenience of handling and long walks? If it's the latter, it won't matter nearly as much. If you are a runner who puts in a decent amount of mileage you NEED to invest in something higher end. It really makes a big difference when running to have the bigger wheels and for safety sake you need one with a locked front wheel. It's going to be a challenge to find one with a good car seat adaptor, I took that criteria off my list and just waited a bit longer till my baby was strong enough to ride on his own (though I still use rolled blankets to keep him a little more snug). I did a lot of looking and gleaned a lot from a friend of mine who regularly runs 40-50 miles/week (and has used a Bob and a Baby Jogger) and ended up getting a Baby Jogger double. For me it boiled down to price, I was able to get a better deal on the Baby Jogger, and since I only put in about 30mi/week and don't always have the kids with me I didn't feel the need to invest a couple hundred more.

Convince your husband to spend the money on the BOB. ;) Seriously by the time you waste money trying to find the "perfect" double stroller you could have gotten a BOB.....and they are (IMHO) worth the money!

If you can afford a BOB, get a BOB. We cannot and have had so many issues trying to find the "perfect" double jogging stroller. :(

Definitely agree. We bought our double Bob on Craigslist and saved a bunch. They also hold their value so you can turn around and sell it in a few years for way more than another brand. They are by far the best!

If you are interested in a tandem double jogging stroller, rather than a side by side. I love love LOVE my City Select (I found mine on amazon). It is a single that converts to a double (an actual double no jump seats) it fits my toddler very well (he is about 35 lbs and 37 in) I believe the chicco car seat is one that it fits, but I bought the bassinet instead. Also another thing that I love about it, is if I only have one kid with me or if my toddler wants to walk I can use it as a single stroller as well. it has 4 wheels instead of 3 so in my mind it is sturdier and the front 2 wheels can either lock or swivel. it is made of super durable material so it will last a long time and you can take the seats off and wash them. I researched strollers for months before I made the decision on this, and am glad I did. It is the only tandem double jogging stroller i could find that didn't have a jump seat. It is about as expensive as a BOB but it is way worth it. Hope this helps.

I love love love my BOB Dualie. My kids are 3.5 and 1 and I've used it since the baby was a newborn. If you are wanting to use it with a carseat you'll need to get an extra car seat adapter that doubles as a snack tray. IMHO you can get by waiting until baby is 4 months before using the jogging stroller and just strapping the wee one in with the seat reclined rather than spending the extra $ on the adapter - I think it was around $50 more. My girlfriend through me a shower and I requested giftcards for REI or $ to put toward the stroller and were able to only pay around $200 for everything after a coupon and sale discount.

I'm not a runner but I am a walker - in the summer I do about 6 miles every other day with the boys and since having my youngest I've lost 65 pounds with it. My boys both love it and pushing it is a dream. I don't take it out often to stores - shopping carts work well enough for me there - and for parks or museums our oldest usually walks but when I have taken it on outings I haven't had an issue. If you look at it as an investment for your health/workout plan it is well worth the cost for sure - cheaper than a gym membership :)

Well I just borrowed the BOB (double) from a neighbor for a 5k I was just in, and WOW is all I can say!
You get what you pay for.... however if you aren't running with it, I am sure any of the standard ones at Target or Babies R Us would work just fine.
I am now in love with a jogger I know my husband will never let me have lol... so if you can talk him into it, go for it!

Have you tried posting wanted ads in the local paper, local consignment stores, Craigslist etc for a used Bob Dbl jogging stroller ? I bought one in great shape for $175 but I looked for about 2mths. Guess it depends on how much time you want to spend on it.
Some of the dbl strollers are so heavy you can hardly lift them. Check the weight before you buy (if buying on line)

Tell you husband that a bob is REALLY worth it. I bought a instep safari and my 2.5 yr daughters legs hang off to the side because there is nowhere for her feet. look on craigslist.

If you're using it for actual running/jogging, then get a good double jogger. If you're just using it for around the town, walks, etc., get a nice regular double stroller. Double joggers are quite wide & a pain to manuver around in stores. If you are going to be running/jogging, make sure and get one with large tires, a good hand break & parking break, and a fixed front wheel. The fixed front wheel will take some getting used to, but it is so much easier once you get the hang of it, and if you get a good quality jogger, then it is actually really easy to turn.

I wanted a BOB, but price was the determining factor & the BOB's are SO expensive. I ended up buying a used Kool Stride/Kool Stop Lil Duce. It is absolutely a breeze to run with. I didn't get it until my baby was 5 months, so I didn't have to worry about having a carseat adaptor. I also have a single jogger InStep brand. Compared to the Kool Stride, pushing the InStep is horrible. It is easier to push both my kids (6 year old, 51 lbs & almost 3 year old, 35 lbs) in the double, than it is to push my little boy in the single! The company is also really great to work with. I bought my double for $50 (with a bent axle) and called the company in CA, bought a new set of axles for $50 and they were here within 4 days. I've put probably 500 miles on it (in the last 2 years) and it is still fabulous.

Good luck!

The new bob duallies only work with Graco Snugrides. We were looking at them & decided against buying one for that reason - and the fact that they still haven't released the new carseat adapters. So you can't even use a snugride! We bought an Instep and hate it lol! The seatback already broke on my toddler's side. So....we still haven't found the perfect stroller either and my 2nd was born in February!
