Double Jogging Stroller - Eveleth,MN

My sister is expecting twins. They live in SanFrancisco, and she has 6 months paid maternity leave. She is thinking she'll be out and about with the twins after they're born, and would like to take up running (I think she's deluding herself, but that's beside the point). She is looking for a double jogger that is front and back, NOT side to side. Because they live in the city, they use public transit a lot, and she is (probably correctly) thinking a front and back will be easier to control on the BART. That said, she ALSO wants one capable of holding carseats. (Yes, I've told her that running with carseats will be heavy. I've recommended waiting until they're 6 weeks old and can more or less handle a five point harness. She doesn't care; she wants the carseats.) I've looked at the Phil and Ted's, but those do not hold two INFANTS, they hold two children. Is there anything on the market like what my sister wants? Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

I'm not certain, but I think you're not supposed to run/jog with infants until they have good head control (too dangerous for them with all the bouncing before they can control their heads). So she wouldn't want joggers with the carseats anyway (maybe that's why it's hard to find them!) She should check with the pediatrician before jogging with the infants. I think you're right about waiting until they're appropriately safe for the 5-point harness!

im pretty certain they dont make what shes looking for... a double jogging tandem stroller for infants (or can carry infant seats). There's a reason for that, which you're already aware of. It's not safe to jog with infants!

Options open up if its not tandem, but thats probably not what she wants if she wants to maneuver around the city easily. (I have the same problem, as I am in SF everyday as well) I have 2 strollers myself, the Bob for jogging, and a regular one for everyday use.

I think she should get 2 different strollers. I'm no expert, but I don't know of a good jogger that holds carseats. Plus, the times that she wants a jogger, she won't need carseats - she wouldn't want the extra weight of the carseats when jogging, as you pointed out, and she wouldn't need them if she's taking public transportation.

I had a Double Snap & Go to use while my twins were in infant carseats, and then have been using a jogger ever since. The Snap & Go definitely isn't very easy to use for walking/jogging... but it's fine for the trips to the store etc that you do a lot of when you have twin babies! : )

I think the other posts are right about jogging with such little ones. You should look into the kolcraft contours options tandem stroller. This looks like a cool stroller, if I was going to have twins I would get this one. I know someone who just got it and they love it. You can buy the car seat attachment or you can just use the seats for little ones. Tell her to just look into this one I think she will like it. YOU can offten find them on craigslist for a good price also.
