Hi moms. I have so much clothes that never made it to consignment and i just want to get rid of them now. I have some of my clothes and lots of kids clothes and shoes. They are in resale condition but I would love to give them to a woman's shelter instead. Does anyone know where I can go to donate these items? I don't want to give it to Goodwill as they will turn around and sell it. I prefer to really help a mom in need but I don't know how. I googled some questions like such but didn't really find an answer. I am willing to go to San Antonio or New Braunfels to do this. TIA for your help.

What can I do next?

I believe the Medina woman's center takes donations, they even pick up - not sure about the correct name is, but maybe you can search it online. Also, there is a collection box by the McDonalds/HEB parking lot, off of Road 3009, near 35 and Garden Ridge that takes donations.

There's the Seton Home. Seton Home exists to provide a nurturing environment that fosters childbirth and proper parenting skills for homeless teens that are pregnant and/or parenting and have chosen to keep their babies.

Maybe think about an orphanage instead. Boysville has boys and girls of all ages that will fit in clothes from baby age to teenage age. I'm sure a girl in her older teens would fit your clothes.

There is a women's shelter on Common St. in New Braunfels. If you bring your stuff on the weekend, you can leave it on their doorstep, if there is no one there.

SAMMinistries here in San Antonio would be your best bet. I have written about this organization and spent extensive time with the director of the shelter. All clothing donated goes to the families who are part of the shelter. Here is their contact information:
