I would like to give my parents and in-laws portraits of our baby for Christmas. My mother-in-law asked us to do this for her last Christmas, but with the baby only being a couple months old, I was too overwhelmed to do so. Does anyone know of a good photographer in the area? I live in Duluth, but would be willing to drive a reasonable distance to use someone good. My daughter is 13 months old.

Shawna Herring will do "on location" shots and she is fabulous! I used her a couple of years ago for some family shots on Stone Mountain. They are still some of my favorite pictures. Visit her website for more info...

I would highly recommend Portrait Innovations. They always have $9.95 packages that of course is only for one pose but they have other packages and when you buy 3 packages you get a cd of all the shots which is usually like 100 and a bonus montage print. They always come out really good and we end up spending like $85 because we love all the pictures. They are very nice and take time with you to narrow down which pictures you want. I have gone to the one in The Avenue of Web Ginn on Scenic Hwy in Snellville 2 times and have always been satisfied. Good Luck
I use Sears. Never been unhappy with any photos from the NorthPoint Mall store. This is where I have had almost ALL my daughter's photos taken.
You may try Olen Mills too. They take Great pictures as well.

Hey,
I would recommend Portrait Innovations. There is a location in John's Creek, not far from Duluth. They are great and have very reasonable prices. Also you leave with the portraits that you choose, there isn't any waiting.
How much do you want to spend??? Seems like the private photogs are expensive. We usually take our own pictures (gave my hubby a great excuse to buy a nice camera) but did bring my (then) two month old son last year to The Picture People and got some great pictures (family and my son in a santa suit). I'm going to bring him again this weekend and put him in his Halloween costume:) There's a Picture People location at the Mall of Georgia. No sitting fees, but they try to upsell you like crazy. Also, check out their website for coupons.
Funny you should ask, as my darling husband is in the process of getting his own photography business off the ground, after working for other people for the past several years, most recently Portrait Innovations. =) I wouldn't post this if he wasn't good, you can check him out for yourself at mattcurtisphotography.com
He is excellent with little children, great at capturing personality!
