Does he get really upset when you lay him down? If so, then it probably is an ear infection. If not, then it may be teeth or, he could have just discovered his ears!
My 9 month old has become very cranky today. He touches his ears whenever he nurses with me. His nanny complained he did the same while he was with her as well- not sure if he did it only while taking the bottle or always. He does not have fever or anything. He is happy and playful but mostly wants us to hold him.He just completed antibiotics for strep throat on monday. His ears looked fine when they checked him last week. Also, he doesnt have any teeth yet , so not sure if its teething. Do I need to take him in tomorrow. I have his 9 month appt on friday, so do I just wait until that? Thanks!

Could be but since you said he just finished a round of antibotics and doesn't have fever, it's doubtful. Is he having drainage or any other upper respiratory issues? If so, that may be the culprit and I would treat that instead. I'd just watch him till Friday.
I would take him to a chiropractor today...... They have cured all my childrens' ear infections. And if that's NOT the problem, it will not hurt him. And just may HELP whatever IS ailing/hurting him!
I would take him in. My son, I thought was just teething ended up having and ear infection. Often time my son would just be cranky when he had an ear infection. He occasionally would pull on his ear, but not a lot. Better to be safe than sorry!
if its an ear ache he'd be restless, cry in his sleep tugging at his ear. otherwise i wouldnt think its anything serious.
