Hey Mamas! Went to a birthday party today for a family friend and had the best artichoke dip ever! I tried to get the receipe for it from the hostess to no avail. Apparently it's a "secret". But it was so good, I really want to make it for us. It was 3 layers. The first was cream cheese based, then artichoke hearts spread on top and then sprinkled with shredded cheese and put in the microwave long enough to melt the cheese. It was served with the great vegtable crackers. It was the yummiest dip I've ever had! Anyone know how to make this dip? I can't figure out what else is in the bottom layer- mixed with the cream cheese. Can you help me out Mamas?!

I think I found it:
Package of cream cheese
2 TBSP melted butter
2TBSP chopped garlic
Parmesan cheese
Mix together and spread on plate.
Drain a can of artichoke hearts and smoosh into the cream cheese mix.
Sprinkle with shredded cheese and microwave for 1:30.
Serve with crackers.
Best dip EVER!
Thanks for the help ladies!

It could be a twist or play on this recipe.

Typically when people will not share it's because A. embarrased by the source or B. it is just a secret family thing! I have a few of those myself - but I disclose the reason to people.

My recipe is always a hit:
Stick of butter (can use 1/2 if you want)
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 bag shredded Italian cheese
garlic, salt, pepper, and other spices to taste
8 oz sour cream
Put in food processer mix until smooth then add:
package thawed/drained chopped spinach
one can artichokes, drained
pulse till incorporated
Place in baking dish, cover with other 1/2 bag of cheese, bake at 350 till warm and cheese is melted and brown. I have reheated it in the micro, but prefer baking.
