Oh my gosh - I get it maybe one or two days before! I always thought I was imagining it!
Glad you brought this up . . .
I've wondered if this is common. On the second day of my menstrual cycle for as long as I can remember, I have an incredible amount of energy. Everything that I put off or just can't get myself motivated to do, gets done. Yesterday, I cleaned the whole house, took out three old bushes, took the kids out to the park, and cleaned my car. I normally could not do all that in one day.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone on this one:) Usually, I have to really kick myself in the butt to get moving every other day. Some days are a complete downer. I'd spend the whole day in bed just pouting, but can't because I have to take care of the kids. I wish I was more energetic.

Wow, I wish. I feel wiped out, or like I got hit by a truck!
I'm with Bug.
Energy is not something I have on any day during my cycle...
LBC
When my cycle came regularly (before peri-menopause), I was exhausted, crampy and losing the water weight that built up over the month (I'd usually gain 5lbs every month and lose it by the 4th day of my period = had to run to the bathroom a lot).
I tried exercising (hiking/walking/etc) during my period to help with cramps - it made me want to throw up and didn't help the cramps at all.
(Having a baby stopped the cramps for good.)
I'm glad you get bursts of energy, but I don't think it's common.
I saw this question, and I had to laugh. I too feel this way. Its not every cycle though. Probably every other one. But, when I do , I get a lot done.
mine is two days before the onset and two days before ovulation.. To me , this is similar to women getting energy right before they go into labor. two days before I was to give birth, I cleaned up our entire house and then some..
I am the EXACT same way. I also notice I can get a lot less sleep around the second day and rest of my cycle and still feel SUPER energized. Love it!
I never really thought about it, but I also am more energized by the second and third days. The first day and 3 days before I am usually cramping and irritable.
