just wanted to say i hope you feel better soon! i think from your posts you must be a great daycare provider...don't be too hard on yourself! we can't always be superwoman!
I just wasted 35 bucks seeing my doctor for him to tell me he has no idea why I feel this way. For 2 weeks I've been hot, cold, dizzy, nauseated and even thrown up several times one afternoon. Most of the time I can make the feeling pass if I can lie down immediately for about a half an hour. But I feel bad for the daycare kids because even with my mom in the house to help, I make the kids watch tv on the couch next to me while I lie back in a recliner. I just never know if it's going to turn into 2 hours of vomiting or if it will pass and the noise of the kids running around and stress of needing to intervene if they are squabbling is too much.
Once it passes I feel good for a bit. But it just keeps coming back. This doctor was no help at all. I've lost a significant amount of weight so he wanted to do an ultrasound of my gallbladder. But I had to tell him like 3 times I have no pain at all. So he decided against that. We talked about a lot of possibilities. But I have no fever, no diarrhea and I just got over a sinus infection so I have been on an antibiotic and he doesn't think I can have any kind of infection causing this because it was a strong antibiotic.
He prescribed a drug for me. But when I got to the pharmacy the girl gave me the other name for it and I realized I've been on this before and I've had this before and it didn't help. The last time it did resolve itself. But this has been going on non-stop for 2 weeks straight and I'm going to lose my mind soon. I need to get my taxes done, the laundry is behind and it's almost spring. I need to be able to run with these kids.
Does anyone have any ideas? Oh...and no, I can not be pregnant LOL and the doctor thinks it's not yet time for menopause. But I swear this does feel just like when I was pregnant. My mother thinks it's an emotional response to finding out I'm going to be a grandmother and that I have sympathy nausea. I can't be that looney can I?!

Thanks. I did have water on my ears when I had my sinus infection. I'll bet it's just that. I guess I'll just have to find more sitting down things to do. It is very much motion sickness. Unfortunately, I don't respond to Dramamine or any of the prescription drugs that are for that. I have had this before. I just forgot until I started thinking back and remembered I've taken those drugs in the past.
This is the EXACT reason I'm not a prude about tv. The kids and I are just going to have to hit the red box for awhile. I just hate the way so many people judge daycare providers harshly for letting kids watch tv. But what else can we do? I'm not contagious and quite frankly it's the little carpet huggers that gave me the sinus infection or upper respiratory virus that lead to the infection in the first place :) I can't very well close the daycare down while I wait to get my balance back.

Wow, this is going to sound really strange but my sister in law just went through the same thing about a week after she had a sinus infection. Does it feel a little bit like motion sickness? Does it get worse when you move your head or walk? Do you feel dizzy and need to sit down? It got so bad for her that she was vomiting every time she moved her head. Her friend had had the same symptoms and was diagnosed with Vestibular Neuritis. Its an inflamation of the inner ear nerve which causes vertigo like symptoms. I am not sure how he diagnosed it but she got some meds that helped with the vomiting (namely Valium that relaxes the inner ear) and something else to ease the symptoms but she is still suffering with it weeks later. It just needs to go away on its own unfortunately.

I had something similar to this, it was an inner ear infection. Which can't be seen if they just look in your ears.
I had the same symptoms you are having. The pressure from the infection causes the sensation of motion sickness, dizzy, hot/cold and then throwing up.
However mine did not last for 2 weeks, so maybe that's not it. My doctor had me take an over the counter anti-motion sickness medication.
Best of luck.
you girls are too smart. I love the knowledge on this site.
Ugh, I would get a second opinion. I have no clue about the symptoms of menopause or how old you are, but my mom went through menopause when she was about 45. But besides being pregnant, I dont know what it could be. Thats the only time I have had those problems. Good Luck!
I have managed these pregnancy issues with drinking no to morning sickness tea.
You can also get wrist bands that are supposed to help with motion sickness. Someone suggested them to me when I was pregnant with my first child. They use pressure points instead of medication to help elimiate the nausea. If the medicines don't work for you, you might try these instead. I didn't ever use them so I can't say they worked for me but it doesn't hurt to try.
could it maybe be Vertigo??? Vertigo can be caused by anything from too much fluid on your ears to an anuerysm. I have been diagnosed with Vertigo and they gave me meclizine, it helps. I hope you find out soon, deff. get a second opinion.
