I am planning a Disneyworld, Epcot Center, Harry Potter Amusement Park and Swim with the Manatees vacation in the spring of 2011. I have looked at all the wonderful tips on this website about Disneyworld that will help us plan our trip. Does anyone have any coupons for any of these attractions that they are not going to use....maybe anyone that lives there that has an Entertainment book, etc.? Please let me know and I will give you my address. Also, if anyone has any tips on the Harry Potter Park or Swimming with the Manatees, please let me know. This will be our first trip to Florida - we live in Arizona. Thank you in advance for your help!

What can I do next?

Call AAA they can get good rates for you. Also you need to do it ASAP as the rates at these parks are going up this month. Sometimes you can get travel packs that have discounts. A lot of the motels in that area offer great discounts. My daughter found their deal online through a motel in Orlando. They paid for the motel and got tickets for the parks for free. They also got a meal deal at the parks at a really good price. My daughters took me to Disney for Mother's Day a couple of days after. They had free passes for the Volunteer deal Disney is offering. They only had to pay for mine and we used the FL resident rate. But honestly, do research. The more you research online the better deals you will find.

Other posters have good suggestions about getting deals on the parks. The one thing I would keep in mind is that if you want to go from park to park, I think most of the passes you get from hotels and/or time share presentations would be single day/single park tickets. If you want to go from park to park in a single day, you would have to get the hopper option, so it all depends on how you want to schedule your vacation. Disney does not have "coupons" per se. I have never seen any kind of discounted admission other than the promotions that others have mentioned, and some of those are only for Florida residents. Disney is expensive, you just have to plan on that. You can bring a cooler in with food, so that can help save a lot in terms of time & money. And there are plenty of places to refill water bottles if you bring your own.

The best place to swim with the Manatees is Crystal River, which is on the west coast, probably about 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours from Orlando. There is nothing else to do there. You could probably do it as a day trip, assuming you're renting a car, but from what I remember, most of the boats go out early in the am. You wouldn't need to spend any other time there. The spring is the most popular time for swimming with the Manatees, so it will be crowded. It is fun, though the water is quite chilly.

Universal's Harry Potter exhibit is only part of the bigger park. The reports in the paper here have been of very long lines/ long waits. It apparently is very well done, but if you are expecting that it's a whole day of just Harry Potter, you may be disappointed. Again, I have never seen coupons. They have an annual pass (with some blackout dates) that is similar in cost to simply buying a 2 day/ 2 park pass, so something to check out if you think it would be worth more than 2 days or if you thought you would come back (I realize this is unlikely for you living in AZ). The other park is Islands of Adventure, which is great for roller coasters and other rides.

You didn't mention how many people would be traveling, but you can get some great deals of condos off property in Orlando, which is great for saving money by preparing your own meals. Sometimes it helps to take a break from the park in the afternoon and then go back in the evening, especially if your kids are young.

Have fun, your kids will love it. There is nothing else quite like Disney.

You've got some excellent advice already listed here! I agree with ALL of it.

Best website in addition to mousesavers.com is:

www.disboards.com

They will give you lots of touring scenarios and advice on that site and even though I am a FL resident I always refer to them to get the best deals. There is a free or cheap section listed with all sorts of nice hints.

Get these free maps from Disney mailed to you - they are good keepsake.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/myVacation/customize...

Also, if you haven't been there before, request a pin to wear around the park, they give you a First Time Visitor button or a Birthday button or whatever, just if you ask them at the gate.

As others mentioned, entertainment books don't give you discounts for any of the theme parks so that won't help you.

Yes, Harry Potter lines are overwhelming - bound to settle down by the time you get there next year. There is plenty to do at Islands of Adventure in addition to the Harry Potter portion of it.

Discovery Cove has swimming with the dolphins - I haven't heard of swimming with the manatees except at Crystal River which is a bit of a drive from Orlando.

Have a fun time and be prepared to spend - just try to keep repeating the mantra that you are on vacation so you have to part with the money. I am a bargain shopper but when it comes to Disney you can only save so much with them...

If you go to your local library, check out one of the Orlando travel books and plan your trip that way too. Sometimes it's easier on the eyes to read a book, rather than try to read something online from a website.

Bring your own water bottles is great advice. Bring a stroller or be prepared to rent one if you have kids because everyone gets tired and grumpy after too much walking, especially in the heat. You can always go back to to hotel or to another restaurant, swim, take a break in the afternoon - and then head back to the parks rather than eat there too, just to save money.

Depending on how busy the WDW park is, sometimes as a token of appreciation for putting up with the crowds they will hand everyone a 20% off voucher to use at their restaurants when you walk into the park. Watch for those - money off coupons are always a nice unexpected perk. The message boards post prices for menus,(and helpful reviews too) so read up and be prepared cost-wise because else it will be sticker shock.

If money is tight though, buy souvenirs at Publix or the local Walgreens or tourist store even, everything is cheaper there and great selection. Have fun!

K., sounds like you have a very fun vacation planned. Disney (Disney World and Epcot) never has any coupons. They very rarely give discounts. However, if you are a AAA member and purchase your Disney tickets through them, you can get a deal. Harry Potter is the "hot ticket" right now at Universal. Keep going to their website, or again checking with AAA, to see if they might offer any Spring Break deals in 2011. Where are you planning to Swim with the Manatees? Crystal River?

As a Florida resident, I would suggest that you continue to stay patient with the purchasing of your tickets. Keep checking the venue websites and AAA. You might have to wait until after the first of the year - mid January - before you see them talking about Spring Deals. Good Luck.

I've never seen "coupons" for any of the Disney parks. Last year Disney had a promotion where you had free admission on your birthday, and this year it was "give a day get a day" - if you volunteered for a day at one of their participating charities -(nationwide) then you received a voucher for a day's admission into one of the Disney parks. I would think that by Nov or Dec they will be talking about any promotions they are planning for 2011. Other than that - I know there are zillions of time shares in the Orlando area - most of them will give you attraction tickets for sitting through their presentation. Good luck and have fun!

There is a site called MouseSavers.com that gives you lots of tips and information about Disney discounts. It even helps with non-Disney parks [like Universal Studios] and Downtown Disney info. I suggest you check back every so often because they are excellent about updating information as it changes. Hope you have a great trip!

Harry Potter is part of Universal Studios which is about 20m away from Disney Magic Kingdom. If you plan on doing the Disney parks get the park hopper option. This lets you go in and out of multiple parks each day. Also you can get from Epcot to Magic Kingdom using the monorail which is free and runs all day.

Also, take lots of sunscreen, hats, sunglasses. If you will have a car, bring your own water/drinks. A bottle of water is $4.

one tip - get a disney book that talks about all the restaurants and see which ones you really want to eat at and call and make reservations soon. a lot of these places you cant just walk up and eat at - like cinderella's castle. you have to make reservations months in advance for that place - and its worth it
