I would get his pass when yours expire. You can either get him a day pass or say he is less than two years old.
We currently have seasonal Florida resident passes for my husband and I. The passes are up for renewal on September 30th. In June our son turned 3. I woulc prefer not to purchase a pass for him until it is time to renew ours. The problem is we are headed to the parks this weekend. Does anyone know if Disney has a policy on tjhe timing of passes for families, or are we going to get stuck buying his pass now, and renewing ours later?
thanks!

If he just turned 3 I would wait to get his pass until you renew yours. We will have the same issue in a few years. Our passes expire in April and our daughter was born in feb... Have fun at Disney! That's where we're going this weekend too!
How would they know he turned three? Just take him in.
This may not the be the "right" thing to do, but if they ask, tell them your son will be 3 next month. They are not allowed to argue w/you about your child's age, nor do they want to. I know people that do this on a regular basis. They profile the turn-style cast members. They pick either young guy or an older man b/c they are less likely to know how old a child is.
If you ask disney, they are not going to let your son in w/o buying him a pass as well. So don't ask, unless your prepared to shell out the $$.
if you are only going once before Sept. 30, just buy him a regular day pass for this trip.
Ask at customer service. In fact ask two different people. At one time if you bought a day pass, at the end of the day you could convert it to a season pass. I am not sure if you can still do this or what would be the validation date. If you a season pass, but didn't validate until you go back, then all of your passes would have the same validation date. Enjoy your trip!
