Disney Infinity

My girls have the Disney Infinity Wii. I was under the impression that they could play together in the Monster University 'land' if they used the Sulley and Mike figures together. They say that it doesn't work. I told them to ask a friend and they said that they can't figure it out either. So what does one need to do to play together in a 'land'?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Looks like we're SOL because we only have Wii. I wish I would have known before I put out the money for it and then ran out and bought additional characters. Buyer beware :-(

Ha ha, we have that game. The kids love it, but geez, I think it is so complicated! I was trying to figure it out and ended up reading the game pamphlet 3x, visiting the Infinity website twice, and watching multiple YouTube videos on it. Luckily my kids figured it out without my help.

We have both the Sulley and Mike and yes, you should be able to play on the Monsters Inc land with both of them. When my kids get home from school, I will ask them for step by step instructions!

It is neat that the "sky is the limit" with this game, but I guess I am the type of person that needs specific, simple instructions and just a "play game" button. Too many choices makes me spin out of control!

Edited to add, my 6 year old just explained it and it sounds very straight forward- put the figures on the platform, turn the x box on, choose Monsters Inc land, push play....We have Xbox though so based on Katrina's answer it looks like it is an issue with wii. How frustrating!

With the Wii you can only play 2 players at a time in the Toy Box. The lands are one player at a time. Wii is the only platform that has this problem. We didn't buy it for the Wii and instead bought it for the Playstation for this reason.
If they want to play together in a land and not just the Toy Box they will need to have it for any of the other systems it is made for besides the Wii.
I have no idea why they did that but it's angered a lot of people if you look around online.

Do you have Wii or WiiU? I believe Katrina is right. If you have regular Wii you can only play 2 person mode in the Toy Box. If you have WiiU you can play 2 person mode in the other worlds. I think this has been the major complaint about Disney Infinity. This is the reason why we bought a WiiU and not a Wii.
