Another vote for the steam mop! I have handscraped hickory and it has done great.
Does anybody know how to disinfect wood floors without damaging them? I typically use Murphy's Oil Soap but I don't think disinfects.

a third for the steam mop not to mention, your 6 year old will LOVE to help. My 6 yo son loves when it is time to mop. He does all the work and I am happy to let him. FYI there are some places you get just the mop and others (I think target) that sell the hand tool for bathrooms. I found that out after I got mine at BB&B. My friend got hers at Target and asked how I liked the hand tool.
Hi ,

sahm married with four great kids that keep me busy.......
Shark Steam Mop! Works great without harming floors and the steam kills the germs!
Ok, so I don't have wood floors, but I do have a steam mop for my tile floors and they are supposed to be safe for hardwood. I would recommend the steam mop to anyone. I LOVE mine!! Good luck!
Are you trying to clean something off it in particular? Or are you just cleaning in general. The problem with disinfectants is, they last just minutes. Literally. You "disinfect" the floor only to have it reinfected all over again. Better to just use a good cleaner such as Murphy's Oil Soap or another cleaner. Good luck!
