We are moving to Princeton and I couldn't get TXU so went with Reliant - I hope that was not a mistake???? A.
Hey moms! I was wondering if any of you are Direct Energy customers and if so, what do you think of the company, customer service especially. We are with Reliant now, but Direct Energy has such a great deal that I'm thinking of switching. Thanks!
So we opted for Direct Energy cause it will really make a difference on our bill during the hot summer months that are fast approaching! Thanks for all you inputs! =)

well...i worked for a non-profit, and we had 7 different electric accounts..we initially switched to direct energy because they promised lower rates, the first bill was 200 dollars more than with txu. then when we tried to switch back to txu the guy from direct energy promised us he had put in the paperwork, turned out the guy was fired and never actually did this. I called and called and called...i was disrespected over the phone and hung up on 3 times. I don't know...if anyone has had an experience like this but I almost quit my job over this...we use txu...and if you're looking for better rates try reliant energy, they are a subsidary of txu. HTH
I have had direct energy for nearly two years now and love it. The price is great, plus it is fixed (can't change on you) for a certain amount of time. The customer service I have had is great. I have had questions about my bill and they were good at explaining. Plus we have had a few times back to back where we would have to call and extend the date of payment and they have always allowed us to do so without having to explain why we can't pay or making us feel like horrible people. Just had to tell them the date I could make it (I always paid it within a week of it being due though so never had to extend it too long) It is a great company. only issue I have is that you can't pay over the phone without a nice little charge but they offer online pay, at some stores pay, and mail pay so it isn't a big deal.
We've used them for years now. No complaints!
I am with Stream Energy and love it, as do all my friends. Stream Energy is a Dallas based business, very competitive on pricing and the leading competitive retail electric provider in Texas. K.
p.s. I read on another note someone said Reliant is a subsidiary of TXU - not! They are the incumbent provider in the Houston area (just like TXU is here), but they are a competitor of TXU.

PLEASE DONT DO IT. They are awful. They charge for everything and there customer service SUCKS.. I went with them so i didnt have to pay a deposit but after dealing with them for about a month I decided a deposit was a good thing at txu
We have had Direct Energy for 3 years now and love it. The price is great cause you get a locked in rate for a year and there customer service is awesome. When my husband was laid off from his job they moved our due date for us so we would receive a late fee. I would definitely recommend anyone going through them.
We have direct Energy and have no problems with them so far. Not to mention the bill is LOW. I love it and highly recommend them.

Hi A.,
I've had Strem Energy for almost 2 years & they've been just fine for me. The only thing I didn't like was their A/R posting of payments. If my payment arrived the day it was due, it wasn't posted & I was charged a late fee. So, to fix that...I mailed my payment earlier. Other than that, they're a great company. I'm at the end of my contract w/a great rate of .1299
hope this helps!!
I don't have Direct Energy but I work for and get my electricity from Stream Energy. They have lower rates than TXU. I've not had any problems and neither have any of my customers. Check out my business review:
