Dinsey Trivia

Hello All, I should have asked this a long time ago if I'm going to perhaps order something, but here goes.

My husband is a Big Disney fan, he especially likes the trivia stuff, the inside scoop. He doesn't like the things that are all Disney bashing, just fun gossip type of information. For instance, he really liked the movie Saving Mr. Banks and enjoyed researching to see if this or that was fact or fiction. Does anyone have any recommendation of Disney books that he might find interesting?

Thank you,

M.

Search "behind the scenes Disney" on Amazon. there are few good options like weird trivia about the parks, and behind the scenes stories.

I don't have any ideas for specific books, but snopes.com has a wealth of Disney trivia on it, there are so many myths and it confirms what is true and what is rumors.

I know a few interesting things from my BIL having worked for Imagineering (the engineers who create the rides) and other people who work for Disney or in Disneyland (I only know about Disneyland, since I am in SoCal):

Anytime you see random codes or numbers on the rides, it is usually something meaningful to the engineers. last I checked, my BIL's Indiana Jones car is still in rotation at Disneyland. All the car's have ID numbers on the side, there is one with his initials and birthdate.

Disneyland gardeners work at night. They replace flowers overnight before they even wilt so the blooms are always fresh.

Every night after close Main Street gets painted. They start at one end and work for a few hours in the middle of the night. I don't know how many nights it takes them to get to the end of main Street, but when they do they go back to the beginning and start all over.

This one is "ew"... my friend who worked Pirates of the Carribean said that it was common to give any romantic looking couples their own boat on slow nights... then watch on the moniters to see what they get up to.

There is a basketball court somewhere in the middle of the Matterhorn

That's all I can think of right now, If I come up with any more I will add :)

I could be here all day giving you links to really great finds. I'll stop with just the few really good ones I put up already. I am a huge fan and have shelves of books and DVDs and Blu-Rays. Search "Disney behind the scenes" "Disney History" and other things like that. Some of my favorite finds have been from the recommended bar on Amazon when I find one thing. One very often leads to so many others!

I went on a Disney cruise and there were tons of facebook pages dedicated just to the cruise. Most of the people on these pages are fanatics. I'm sure there are Facebook pages with other types of Disney fanatics. I'm sure you can search for them and they can steer you in the right direction.

What about the books describing the animation process. I have a couple and I love looking thru them to see the whole process and what all is involved.

Also, have you ever thought of buying an "animation cel"? Being a Disney fanatic myself, I have always wanted one but they're usually out of my price range.

Good luck!!

I know they have books about all the hidden Mickey's in the parks. I am sure there are more topics I have seen plenty of books about them in the parks. I bet you can find some on Amazon books or Disney.com.
