I need some ideas on what we can take to Disney World for my son to have beyond just a piece of paper w/character signatures on it. I have thought about a disney book and just have the characters sign it but I haven't had any luck finding one that will work, also thought about like a piece of disney cloth and do something w/it later but not sure what. Then like I said there is of course just the piece of paper. What have you guys used and what would be something awesome that he would love to keep and not just eventually throw away?
They sell actual Disney World ones at almost every store there and at the resorts. Ify you are staying on property just go to the gift shop at the resort. They are inexpensive. When we went a few years ago we got each of the boys their own.
Someone gave us a Disney autograph book that they had bought. You can get them at any stores.
If you're looking for something more sentimental or cool...why not a white t-shirt that he can wear?
They sell nice books at the park, some are just for signatures and some hold pictures too. You can even find matching pens for the book.
The last time we went I bought each of my kids (2 of them) a scrapbook album. I took pages and had characters sign the actual page and then scrapbooked in pictures and other souvenirs/momentos along with it. I could alternate pages so it was autograph next to autograph, etc.
My daughter was 8 and wrote herself on each page what we did, where we went, etc. and its so sweet to go back and read what she wrote. She's 15 now and laughs at it.
They sell them in the park.. This way your child can pick out the actual one they want.
Take a photo each time with the Character, then you can have the photos printed when you all get home..
We bought the ones at Disney World when we went in 2009. Our kids were 6, 4, and 2 at the time.
I am hoping to get to Disney Land next winter, in which case the older two may or may not want signatures, they will be 10 and 8. So we'll see if we get them. Maybe. The books are in a drawer in our bedroom. I'm not sure the kids will ever want to see them again.

I think i like the idea of a combo photo book autograph book/ journal. but i forgot i would need a special pen that sounds cool.
we are driving and i think i might like to get a book ahead of time and let them open it on the drive.
We've done autograph books several times, so last year for our Disney cruise we brought white pillowcases for the characters to sign, along with fabric pens. They turned out great, and my kids really treasure them.

We got one but we didn't really focus on getting too many autographs. My kids preferred to do rides rather than stand in lines. We did happen upon a few characters with no lines, so it is good to have the book with you. Have fun!
I bought a small red scrapbook, paper covers about 5X9ish. Then I decorated it with disney stickers. I had them autograph the left of each set of pages then put the picture of the character and my child on the right side of each set. It worked really well...and was a lot less expensive.....and was much nicer than the ones you can buy at the park. Plus the kids got to decorate it with the stickers in their own way.
We went to office max and they bound autograph books for us. It was awesome, cause they were personalized with my child's name on it. We took 20-30 white pages of cardstock and had them bound with a clear front and black plastic back. It is spiral bound, so really easy to use. We had ours cut in half, so it was not expensive at all.
In addition to the autograph books (which typically have 1 side for the autograph and a clear sleeve on the other side for a photo), we've done picture frame mats and have gotten multiple signatures on them - then we use that to frame a picture of us at the park!
My son doesn't get into the autographs, so we didn't do this ourselves, but I DID see something cute when we were there last summer. A kid had a one of those small photobooks (the kind where you slide 4x6 prints into clear sleeves back to back... really simple. Anyway, she had decorated the outside covers with Disney stickers, and puff painted her name... then slipped white index cards into the picture slots. The characters signed the plastic pages with a large sharpie and then her parents had been sliding in prints of her with each character behind the signature (so like tinkerbell's autograph was across the pic of the kid with Tink). I'm not sure I would go so far as to get prints every day like this family, but you could totally add the prints after the trip.
I saw a cute idea the other day where someone took a photo mat and had the characters sign that. Then, they used it to fame a picture of the child at the park. I thought that was cute and liked it vs a book that got put away and forgotten.
I like the idea of the photobook so you can add pictures behind the signatures... but in the end... these are just signatures of Disney employees pretending to be characters, and your son will probably throw away whatever awesome book/tshirt/etc you find someday.
When we went last year, my daughter (3) was wearing a Daisy hat when she met Daisy. Daisy signed her hat! We thought that was pretty neat! So, if your son has a hat or other article of clothing he can wear when he meets the characters, maybe they will sign it? Another option is to get a shirt with multiple characters on it and then have them sign that. I like the option of having the characters sign something they will keep for awhile so it's not a waste (of paper, money, etc). Have fun!
Get the autograph book. Have the characters sign every other page and put a photo of your son and the character on the adjoining page. He will love it
When we went to Disneyland, I found an autograph book at a local store. You could use a journal, or a diary, or a notebook.
When we went to Disneyland, we purchased an autograph book there at one of the stores for our daughter. We kept it with us and when we saw a character, we took a photo and she got an autograph. The autograph books are small enough to fit in a fanny pack, but we had a stroller for my son so that's where we kept it, not having to carry it all the time.
Trust me, just find him one when you get to Disney World. Virtually every shop sells them. There were characters everywhere at Disneyland and posing for photos and signing autographs is part of their jobs. They happily do it. Kids love it!!
I don't remember what we paid for the autograph book, but it wasn't expensive. My daughter got a Minnie Mouse pen for letting people sign. It was really fun for her while we were there and it was really fun for her to have it after we got home.
Trust me, you should have no problem finding a Disney autograph book once you get there.

we bought my daughter one of the autograph books at disney. they have a slot for pitcures in it :) my daughter filled hers after a few days at disney :) i think we spent like 20 on the book and a minnie mouse pen
