Digital Scrapbooking - Colleyville,TX

Has anyone used a digital scrapbooking program? I have played with Creative Memories free version, and I think I could do this much easier than the cut and paste method. I liked the colors Creative Memories used, but there is no flexibility with the templates. Does the upgrade let you chose size and number of pictures? I also know I like Creative Memories’ albums, and I am assuming these you have printed up are of equal quality.

I haven’t done anything in over two years, so I need to find something to begin my daughter’s baby book. I would like more information on programs available so I can put it on my Christmas list.

I love creative memories. I was strictly a photo and paper album kinda of girl and was scared to go to digital. I bought the Creative Memories Storybook Creator 2. The free version doesn't let you play with templates, but the 2nd version is great. I can change templates, create my own, add pictures, change photo shapes, make edges, add embelishments- basically anything you would do by hand only digital. And in a short amount of time. You can add pages, pictures, size of album- everything.

The quality is first rate, better than the books from shutterfly and kodak. And you can customize the covers. The last on I did is from a camping trip in Colorodo and my cover is a picture of a lake with mountains in the back ground!

I would highly recommend this program. It can be expensive to purchase all the different paper packs at once- but no more so than purchasing an album, paper, stickers, and printing the pictures off to make a paper album- and once you purchase it- you can use it again and again and again. Also, unlike other programs, you can make a page on another program and save it, and upload it to your creative memories album.

Have FUN!

T. R., Yes, the new Storybook Creator Plus softwear gives you that flexibility. Look on my website www.mycmcite.com/anitacopeland and see what you think. I'm having a session on this on 11/21 from 2 to 10 PM if interested. A. C.

Hi T.,
I use Snapfish for cheap affordable photobooks, cards, and gifts...really easy and affordable. http://www2.snapfish.com/welcomep

Then I also found a great site called Picaboo for awesome, customizable digital scrapbooks. A little pricier per book, but I think it's worth it. You can download all sorts of free backgrounds. They have hundreds of page formats to choose from and it's been super easy. You can link here: http://www.picaboo.com/

What I've done is a monthly photobook on Snapfish for all the good photos of that month, and then I'm working on a special One-Year photobook on Picaboo with just the best photos from each month (one-month per page with journaling).

Good Luck!

My website is www.myfamilystorymaker.com in fact we are featured in the December 2008 issue of Oprah's "O" magazine on her All Time Favorites List. We have more options and flexibility then any other company out there. Everything is done right on the website so there is no software being downloaded to your computer.

Please take a look and let me know what you think. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.

Take care,

I just use Shutterfly at www.shutterfly.com. It is super easy. They keep adding stuff all the time. I use their free download software to organize my photos on my computer and to edit them on my computer. They will automatically be downloaded to shutterfly once they are on your computer if you set it up that way.

I also do my Christmas cards, thank you cards and party invitations through them. It is just super easy and they will send them for you if you provide the address list.

Personally, I have fallen in love with www.shutterfly.com. It is free and you can make photo books your very own, along with getting a free 'share site' to share photos with family and friends all over the country.

I love the flexability with digital scrapbooking! I started out with Creative Keepsakes software (it is dirt cheep for the amt of stuff it can do)! But when I changed to vista it wasn't compatible. Then I had to change to The Scrapbook Factory and it does have more updated stuff in it but it is not as flexable. I have also had fun with Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 and I hear there is a 7 now. There is a learning curve with it and if that frustrates you I would try the software made for scrapbooking first, as long as it is compatable with your PC. Too FUN! There are tons of sites for digatal scrapbooking that will let you do free downloads and of course, you can buy digital elements of all kinds! I like to stick to stuff I make myself with the Adobe (I am creative and very frugal!). Keep trying things because your creativity will have no bounds with digital scrapbooking!
