Has anyone taken Align for Digestive Health? Did it work for you? Did you have side effects? I have Acid Reflux really bad and a Hiatal Hernia. The doctor recommended for me to take it. Does anyone know of anything else I can do? I am on 3 different meds. They are not working anymore. Their is nothing else for me to take for it is the strongest meds. to be on. HELP I NEED SLEEP!

What can I do next?

I've never heard of it being prescribed for acid reflux. I've always thought priobiotics (Align) were more for bowel health because your digestive flora is off.

I have taken it and it marginally improved my problem but it took the entire 7 week box to notice a difference.

It can also be expensive so if you have a Sam's or Costco membership you may want to buy it there.

If your 3 meds are not working than why have they not considered surgery?

My chiropractor pulled my stomach down and my scans show no more hiatal hernia. No more acid reflux. I find that PB8 (probiotic) works better than Align as far as a probiotic goes. Digestive enzymes work best for acid reflux. I like Biozyme from BioSpec....since I can break them in half, if I don't need as much, as opposed to a capsule.

I am so sorry! I wish I could help. I have had severe acid reflux in the past and eating a spoonful of raw honey helped immensely. Raw honey is full of probiotics. I don't know if it would help you, but it may be worth a shot!

I hope you feel better soon!

My dad had acid reflux for years. I remember growing up, my dad would just chug Mylanta all day long. He kept a bottle on his desk at work and on the table next to his recliner. Looking back, I wonder if my mom bought it by the case? LOL
Of course, he was just treating the problem, or covering it up. Not really solving anything.
Anyways, they have developed so many great medicines of the years. Many years ago, he found something that worked. And I remember the doctor telling him he would have to take it for a year or so - that it would actually help heal the problem. And then he would only have to take it every once in a while that it wouldn't be chronic anymore. It worked.
I don't know what he took, so I can't help you there. But I wanted to share with you that if you find the right thing and stick to it, there may be light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck!

Have you tried adjusting your diet?

Have you elevated the head of your bed? Do you not eat for a couple of hours before going to bed? Do you stay away from spicy foods?

I know they don't operate for a hiatal hernia as often now but my aunt had surgery and was greatly relieved of pain.

I would try a chiropractor or accupuncture first. There's a lot of research out there they either or both can help with reflux (not sure about the hernia).
