I am still trying to lose 10 pounds and watching my calorie intake and working out an hour a day has not done anything. Has anyone tried any of those weight/ fat loss pills?

What can I do next?

Some of those "diet" drugs can really have some adverse effects. I swear by weight watchers. Been on it 3 weeks and have lost almost 10 pounds. Join for a few weeks until you learn how the system works. You can eat anything you want in moderation as long as you cut back somewhere else.

We are members of our local YMCA and they have a free weight loss/workout program that starts you on 30 min of cardio three times a week-- walking, swimming and then works you into weights. I also had a friend that did Denise Austin every morning and she lost 40 pounds!! Good luck!! The hardest part is just getting into a routine and sticking with it! Also, drink lots and lots of water! Snack on pretzels!

I've tried many of the diet pills, so far... they're all a total waste of money. I HIGHLY suggest the Sonoma Diet, whether that be online or using the book (I found it at the library) The first 10 days are a little rough because you're going through the cleansing phase, but after that's over it's not like being on a diet at all. The food is GREAT... actually much more tasteful (if that's even a word) than much of what we ate before, and I love to cook! It's easy to follow, easy to shop for, cheap, and WONDERFUL. It's a total lifestyle change, not just a diet and the weight just falls off. I'm practically immobile when it comes to exercise due to a broken back and weight is just melting away. If you couple it with exercise I think it would have to work just that much better. Good luck with your weight loss!

I have tried almost all of them. Some work for a little while then stop and you end up gaing the weight back. Most don't work at all. Although I haven't given up hope yet. I am excited to try the new FDA approved MYALLI. It is expensive but hopefully it works. Although I have a LOT MORE than 10 pounds to lose!!! Good Luck!

I really don't think pills are the way to go. I gained 40 lbs with my pregnancy. I am starting to get to that depressing stage where I am sick and tired of being fat and feel like nothings working. My problem is that I have no will power when it comes to food. Food is addictive. It's comforting. And it is something to do when my daughters napping. My advise is to continue working out and just watch what you eat. Eat lots of veggies and fruits. Low carbs and stay away from SODA, Sugars, and fried foods. :)

Good luck! I know I need it.

Hi T., watching the calorie intake is good but what about carbohydrates? Please do not use any diet pills!!! Before becoming a SAHM mom I worked in the pharmaceutical field and taking those pills are not worth your time or money.

I have lost 4 pounds in the last month, my total goal is 10 pounds by July. I have not tried any dieting I just watch what I eat, most of the time! :-) LOL I only drink water, no empty calories from juice, sodas.... I walk 6 miles about 4 times a week 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening. Other days I may just do 2-3 miles. Believe me it is hard but I am really looking to live a healthier lifestyle. Denise Austin has some awesome workout DVD's that works the entire body. Some days I may do this but I mostly walk. Wish you much success!

Watch the type of calories you are eating, not just the number of calories. Limit the amount of sugars and carbs you are eating, and the amount of foods with sugar in them. Increase the salads and your water intake. Don't do the weight loss pills. They don't work, have some nasty side effects, are costly, and aren't good for your body. Also, look into the South Beach Diet. It has a program with different phases, which can help you get the weight off and keep it off.

T., I have been part of a select group that was able to get the new FDA approved pill Alli for the last 3 months through the manufacturer. It is half the strength of the prescription Zenical and will now be over the counter. What it does is if you would typically lose 5 pounds with diet and exercise, then you would lose 50% more with Alli. I have been on it for 3 months and have had wonderful results. There are a few side effects I suffered (cramping, going to the restroom quite a bit) ONLY when I ate foods high in fat. It will be on the shelves this week and I believe they are around $50 a month. If you stick to a exercise regimen and stay within your calorie limits you may want to give this pill a try. To learn more about it you can go to www.myalli.com. Best of luck to you!

The problem with diet drugs is that the result is temporary. So you lose the weight intended, stop the drugs, then what? You gain the weight back. If it's only 10 lbs. you're trying to lose, try stepping up your exercise program. Make sure you're taking in at least 1200 calories a day (that's the minimum). Also, water is key!!!! It cleans out your body, so you need to make sure you're taking in the recommended amount of eight 8 oz. glasses of water each day. One last thought...the last 10 lbs. maybe should stay. As we get older, our bodies get comfortable. So your body may be perfectly content where it is.

I used to use them all of the time. I can tell you that they will work at first, but you're really just losing water weight and getting an energy burst from all of the caffeine. After some time I was kind of dependent on it to get me going in the morning so I gradually stopped using them and now I just work-out about an hour most days and limit my sugar intake and i have lost almost all my baby weight. Good Luck

Hi T. I don’t have any advice on any meds that work but I hope you find one. Reading all the responses people are being a bit harsh on you I think. Lots of us don’t have time to work out for 2 hours or walk 3-6 miles twice a day. That is crazy talk if you ask me. Do you all have time for anything else besides work and working out? Anyway T. I wish you good luck losing those last ten pounds and stay away from Weight Watchers it is like a cult. I used to go and they make you feel like a freak because you are heavy. Who needs to feel ostracized for trying to lose weight? Plus if you only have ten pounds they will charge you a ton of money to get started and pressure you into buying useless cook books and eating out guides.

I also need to loose about 10 extra pounds from having my baby and I have tried diet, exercise and diet pills. I tried those Hydroxycut diet pills and they don't work. My husband has tried tons of diet pills and he says that he has not found one that has worked for him. I think they are just a scam to get your money.

Any chemicals you start taking kind of have the ability to take over and then to keep weight off you could get stuck taking them for life. That really isn't the best way to go. Maybe increase your workout a little or change it up, one day cardio one day toning. Also maybe just trying something a little more along the healthy line for your body may help. Maybe you could switch from coffee if you drink coffee to green tea. And if you can't see yourself drinking either then they do make green tea supplements. Green tea has amazing effects on your body. It is very good for you. Ten lbs left to lose...I have 13, but I have lost 65. I walk/run 4 miles a day and do a pilates session after that. A few times a week I also do extra on my Total Gym. I eat all whole foods and the only beverage I drink that has calories is my daily intiake of milk, and an occasional hot chocolate in the winter. I don't like useless calories. So I don't drink pop unless it is diet and I make sure if I have any juice that it is 100% juice. I use whole grains because of their nutritional benefits vs white flour. I take vitamins daily, one multi-vitamin, my green tea and I also take Sea Vegg(which really has helped me not to get sick as often as my kids bring home stuff from school). I make sure I drink a little over the suggested amount of water daily...But not too much more because I made that mistake once and found that yes, even too much of a good thing is bad(I got drunk on water) And for a little while i found it a little hard to hack away the last few lbs. But I increased thingsa a little and its going away again. You can and will do it, just hang in there and please rethink your thought on diet meds. The best way to take it off and keep it off is doing it the old fashion hard way. Good luck.

Not real sure about the diet meds. The ones that I have tried in the past either didn't work or made me feel really bad. Before I got married I did weight watchers and lost 25 lbs. Then after gaining 50 lbs. being pregnant I had some extra weight that I couldn't get off and I started following weight watchers again. I have been doing it since the middle of March and I am down 20 lbs. so far. I myself did it on my own without the meetings, but I know the meetings are really good too! It's all in your control. I absolutely love weight watchers because it works and you can still be happy eating whatever you want. I eat icecream everynight! I ordered my books and calculater off e-bay but this time around I can't find my books so I rely on my calculater and an excellent website... www.dwlz.com this site is great!! Good Luck to you, I know it can be tough.
