Have your husband ever screwed up, and then after you find out about it, he bends of backwards trying to fix it? when i say screwed up, that could be anything, not just cheating. my question is did you tell him that he was over doing it or did you just let it go and go along for the ride? did you tell him that it didnt seem real? just say he's doing thing like: being more attentive, complementing you more often, doing the dishes etc,.

What can I do next?

if my husband messes up, he does what he can to fix it.

I don't drill him and I don't pound his mistake into him...I don't ignore it - but I don't hang it over his head...

I'm pretty lucky - I've got a good man - he drives me nuts every once in a while - but over all - I really can't complain!!!

It depends...if he did something minor and his apology actions are amusing you then by all means let him bend over backwards. I would not let him off the hook, let him keep showing his remorse as long as he will do it.

However, if he did something really bad and is just trying to wash it away with silly gestures then you need to decide whether you want to continue the relationship. If you do, then let him keep going while you get your mind around forgiveness. If you don't, tell him to stop the silliness and get out. I hope you guys are in the minor error category! Good luck.

I say let it ride...you can always just snicker about it inside your head. Besides if you say something then maybe next time he won't try to make amends. :) Yes, my husband does this too, I always find it kinda funny.

Yes, my husband does this sometimes. Sometimes I accept it even though I know it's just to get back into my good graces but then sometimes I sort of call him out on and it and say I'd rather you be attentive (or whatever) all the time instead of just right now b/c I'm mad. I think it depends on my mood...which sucks for him b/c he never knows what to expect! Haha! Overall my hubby is pretty good and we've got a pretty good sytem most of the time!

If he's bending over backwards, you'd better let it go.

Guys are so linear sometimes it's cute . . . i.e., "I messed up something - let me fix it."

IMHO that's usually a sign that your man really loves you and cares that you love him back.

PS: I usually just "go along for the ride."
