Buy cloth diapers and use washcloths to clean baby's bottom and you'll never have to buy diapers or wipes again.
Ok moms....I wish I was one of those women who clipped coupons, and searched every store for the cheapest price. But I am not, I probably waste tons of money by not taking the time to do this, but I simple do not have the time.
SO....our biggest constraint with two babies is DIAPERS and WIPES......Where is the CHEAPEST place to buy these items?
Buy cloth diapers and use washcloths to clean baby's bottom and you'll never have to buy diapers or wipes again.
Have you ever looked into a cloth diaper service? I did that with all three of my kids and it was actually cheaper than disposable, plus they trained earlier, win win!
My daughter also buys diapers at Costco. She tried the Huggies which they also have but is not always using the Kirkland brand. She says they leak much less. She also uses the Kirkland brand of wipes. Both are less expensive than buying at other places.
We bought ours at Costco because I was very particular about the quality and they had the best "generic" diapers at the best price.
Their Kirkland's Supreme diapers are just as nice (if not nicer) than Huggies Supreme. They often send out a coupon for $5 off a box.
Their Kirkland's wipes were the BEST wipes I ever tried. Generics, name brands, everything - the costco ones were best hands down for durability (I hate the ones that fall apart or are too soft or too soapy) and smell (the smell of many brands was too aggressive for me). In fact, after my son was out of diapers we continued to buy the Kirkland's wipes because they were just so handy, I could use them on the table, my son's face, hands, heck, I even cleaned the car with them once.
Knock off brands don't work for some of my kids, so I had to buy Huggies. Usually the best prices are at Costco, but Target often has deals where if you buy 2 or 3 boxes at a time, they'll give you a $10 Target giftcard.
For the kids that can use the cheaper brand, I just get the Target brand, and they are great and affordable.
We buy ours at Sam's Club. Huggies for the newborn, and Luvs for the 2 year old. We get the Member's Mark (store brand) for wipes. If you have a Sam's club membership, they will even ship all diapers and wipes free to your home, so you don't even have to waste gas driving to the store!
Other than Sam's Club, you can go online to compare prices. Some stores have different size packages, so find the size diaper you want and figure the price per diaper. Doing this online is much faster that going to the stores and trying to figure it all out.
Also, I have heard good things about amazon and their mom's club, but I do not know enough to give any information . . . you should look it up though!
Either costco/bjs or walmart or target. All 3 have store brand dipes and wipes and they're all good. I usually go to target because it's 2 min from my house.
Sams. Or Cost co.. llikely close in price.
You can also make your own wipes. From papertowels. might be cheaper.
We used Luvs diapers & Huggies wipes. I did clip coupons for these. If its just pee, use a wash cloth. Walmart or Dollar General. Blessings to you & your little ones:)
Costco. We bought the Kirkland (Costco) brand and they are seriously the best disposables there are. HATED Huggies, Luvs and Pampers. The Sam's Club brand leaked.
I buy Costco's Kirkland wipes and Pampers from Toys R Us or Babies R Us when they have a "buy 2 boxes, get a $20/25 gift card". Amazon has great prices on diapers and wipes too and offer discounts and free shipping.
Cloth all the way.
I've spent $300 to diaper 2 children.
Costco is by far the cheapest place for Huggies and I have had good luck with the Kirkland brand. Costco is definitely cheapest for wipes. Kirkland brand of wipes are great and by far my favorite. If you prefer Pampers, Sam's Club is the cheapest for those. Their store brand is also good.
Try cloth diapers - way cheaper and better for the baby's bum and environment. We LOVED Motherease diapers. It will save you tons of money over the long run.
We have always liked Target brand diapers the best. They are cheaper than huggies/pampers even WITH coupons, and even WITH stacking store/manufacturer coupons that Target does. However, when you throw in some of the gift card deals that Target does, it gets questionable, but we still just like Target brand best. They also do GC deals with Target diapers...buy two boxes at $25.99 and get a $5 gift card. That is over 200 diapers for $21! Pretty cheap per/diaper cost!
we buy luvs via amazon moms. the box of 150 runs us $26.20 or approx $0.18 per diaper. To figure our whether you are getting the cheapest possible price, you really do have to calculate the per diaper cost.
Good luck to you and yours,
F. B.
Amazon.com Use the subscribe and save option. I personally like fisher price diapers and splurge on the pampers wipes.
I love pampers diapers, but they do get expensive! I've found that target brand is a less expensive alternative!
Happy Friday!
We always bought our diapers and wipes at Odd Lots - they were just as good, if not better, than the big names that charge three times as much. I have never understood paying so much for a name!! But I guess that's just me!!
Even the dollar stores like Dollar General would be cheaper for the wipes; and they DO have name brands!!
Good luck!!
Luvs is the best value for the money. I buy the large boxes at BJs and usually use store and manufacturer's coupons. I use the Unscented Baby Wipes from BJs. By far the best wipes anywhere, hands-down. It's a bonus they're a great deal.
I know you are all poo-poo on the coupons. But, I'm a full time working mom of two- trust me I get the time issue. But it doesn't have to be time intensive. I have diaper coupons sent to my email and snail mail from Luvs. I get the Sunday paper and flip through the coupon inserts there as well, which takes about 5 minutes, tops. Once a month I get a BJs coupon booklet in the mail, and there are always diaper coupons $4 or $5 off. I've compared everywhere, including Amazon, and Bjs is the cheapest bulk for diapers when combined with the store coupons. I've saved hundreds over the years.
Costco. Definitely cheapest for wipes (though you could just use wet washcloths and wash them). Probably cheapest for diapers if you're not really good about clipping coupons and following sales.
I buy Luvs, usually look for a good sale. A few weeks ago, Target had one where if you bought 2 of something (think it was Huggies and Luvs) you got a $10 gift card. So I bought 2 boxes at $16.99 a box. Target brand is also good and my go to when I cannot get a better price on Luvs. I don't belong to a Sams, Costco or similar so cannot attest to their stuff but have heard Kirkland brand is awesome (Costco?). I stay with Huggies wipes and try to but the box. Target wipes are very thin and I end up using a lot.
As a mom to a 6 year old still in diapers(he's special needs)I've found the most cost effective diapers to actually be the Parent's Choice brand from Wal*Mart. I also found the pampers thick wipes to be great and they last forever. I realize these suggestions will not work for all but I figure if they can hold and clean up what a 6 year old can do I'm pretty sure they can take care of what younger ones can do as well.
Diapers are expensive..no doubt. I tried several different brands with my first child and found that the only brand that didn't leak was Pampers. I would guess that it really all depends on how your children are shaped, so different brands tend to work differently for each child. I usually just bought at Wal-Mart when I bought groceries. I would buy the huge boxes and save a little there.
I do understand your pain though...mine are exactly 2 years apart so I also had two in diapers at the same time!
Costco and Walmart
i know that looking in the newspaper on Sunday I almost always found a coupon. But seriously found that Walmart always had their brand cheaper without the coupon because the coupons are almost on the name brands. So I got Walmart brand White Cloud, which they don't make any more. But I know they were always less expensive without question.
My kiddos like to pee, and so after they outgrew swaddler type diapers, we went to the Huggies Overnights. These are $20 a box at Walmart or Target. Unfortunately, Costco doesn't sell them, but the supremes just don't work as well, and the kids are allergic to Pampers and Target, and Safeway, and Fred Meyers, etc. The 2nd best brand we found was Cuddle Ups from Winco for some odd reason. But, really, we spend a lot because I would not want to have so much laundry.
My local stores are WalMart, Target, and ShopKo.
I buy diapers exclusively at Target, because they are cheapest.
I used to buy Luvs, because they are leaps and bounds cheaper than Pampers or Huggies, and both Pampers and Huggies always gave my children rashes anyhow.
Now I buy Up and Up, which are cheaper STILL, because I found that they were thinner and more comfortable than other diapers yet the quality (controlling leakage, etc) was on par with the rest of the expensive diapers. I also buy Up and Up wipes.
Just an example...I think a box of 60 Pampers (size 5) costs about 30 bucks, and I buy a box of 140 Up and Up for 24.99. HUGE difference...huge.
Target also does gift card deals. Last month it was buy 2 boxes of Luvs (I bought 2 boxes, size 5, 80 each, for 16.99 apiece) and got a ten dollar gift card. Also got three five dollar gift cards for buying other things I was already going to buy, so I end up saving a ton of money last month.
I did the cheapest store brand (Target, Sams, grocery store, whatever) during the day when the kids were changed often. But they couldn't make it over night without leaking in those, so I switched to the expensive Huggies at nightime only.
For wipes, we use Sams club.
