Hi Moms. My daughter is 7 months old and at her 6 month visit she was 19 pounds. I'm assuming she's closer to 20 now. We're almost out of this box of Pampers (I buy them online in the Large boxes). She's currently wearing size 2-3, which goes up to 22 pounds. They seem to fit her fine at this point. I'm just wondering if I should get another large box, or go up a size? I hate it when they get too small for her. But two pounds is a lot - she'll probably go through the box (or most of it) before she gains another two pounds. Thoughts?

What can I do next?

Size 3 Cruisers are great, and fit my 20 pound baby perfectly. In fact, I even use the size 4 at night (she sometimes soaks through...) I'd go up to the next size.

Hi L.,

My 3 month old son is already 15 pounds and I ran out of size 2 diapers (We were given something like 35 packages of diapers for my shower)...so I put him in the size 3 diapers. Although they are big...you just fold down the front flap like you did before her umbilical cord fell off and they work great. Everyone tells me the size 3 diapers are the ones he will be in the longest....so you might as well go up a size now. That way you don't have extras that don't fit her. Good luck! Oh and by the way...I was 38 when I had my son...so we are close in age. It seems a lot of my friends are having kids "later" in life now. Other than the sleep deprivation...I feel great!

If your not sure then buy a small bag for now of the small size and the larger size. Try it out and see what you think.

Go up to the next size. I think I started my daughter on size 4 at around 22, 23 lbs.

Diaper sizes usually overlap with weights. In other words, the low end weight on the size three will be less than the high end on the size 2. You should probably go up a size.

My son, though 10 months, weighs exactly what your daughter does, and we tried to put him in the size 3 Pampers, but ended up going back to the 2-3s, because they fit him much better, even though he's getting to the outer reaches of the weight limit. I'd say get a small bag of the bigger size and try them on for fit. I've found that my son doesn't grow into the next size until after the stated weight frame has arrived. Good luck!

sounds like you found a good place to shop.
i recently found diapers.com
i LOVE it.
it's a great site to get diapers, and you could get just a few more of the current size and then order several different brands of the size 3 to see what works best.
I just ordered a variet of size 3's.........some of the more environmentally friendly ones that are unbleached, and they were great. I was impressed. no leaks or anything!
WHOO HOO!
they also have some more enviro-friendly wipes that we tried, also liked those.
and i really loved the low cost of the lansinoh breast pads..........cheaper than anywhere i've bought them before, AND free shipping!
:)
Happy mothering!!

I use a size 3 in Huggies and also buy in bulk at Costco. The size 3 is from 16-28 lbs- a pretty big gap. My son is 9 months old and has been in these since around 6 months of age. So far so good.

I'm assuming you're using the swaddlers. If you are that's the largest they go then you move into cruisers. The Cruisers Size 3 go from 16-28 lbs so that would probably be a good switch. We used them with my daughter but actually found out in that size we preferred the Huggies which we are now using for our 11 month old son. He is just about 20 lbs now and the size 3 Huggies we get at Costco work great with him. I would suggest getting one of the large sizes, try one out of the box before you run out of the smaller size to make sure they fit. If they are still too big, then I would go with a small box of the size 2-3 for now.

I find the lbs don't matter so much. It's if they fit her correctly . Don't get caught up in the label reading and use your own judgement.

I would buy a size 3. The weight on a size 3 usually starts at 16 pounds.
