i suggest trying a&d ointment,my son had really bad diaper rash and after using LOTS of other stuff i used that and it worked great!good luck:)

When my son had his first very bad diaper rash I took him to the doctor because nothing was working and she said it was yeast. She told me to put OTC vaginal yeast cream on it and powder it. It cleared up right away. One of the hallmarks of yeast is that it's not just around their bottoms but spreads down around the folds and onto the legs and it is very red and angry looking. You might want to get the rash looked at by your doctor if it sounds anything like that.

A&D Ointment or Desitin works great!! Our Dr. recommended the A and D, but it can be a bit spendy ( well so is everything for a baby). I recently bought Desitin- creamy or clear- both work.
Try it out and see what happens. It only takes a couple of days to work ( or less).
If it's really bad, it could be a yeast infection, and you need to take her to the doctor to get a prescription.

I've used baking soda in the bath, combined with airing out & it works better than any diaper cream I've tried! Just add baking soda to her bath & mix it in. Try to let her soak as long as you can. Then, what I did at that age before they were mobile was give them 'tummy time' by putting the changing pad from the changing table onto the floor, covering it with a towel, turning up the temperature and let them play like that for about half an hour. My kids seemed to love it, and it worked like a charm! Good luck!

I don't know if this will work for you but I thought I'll send it. The technique that my mom taught me was each time my daughter mess up her diaper, I give her a nice clean rince with some baby wash and put baby oil on her. Use a very soft cloth to pad her dry then let her be naked for 5 10 minutes. you can cover her with her soft blanket. Let her just air out. Do this for a week and see if any changes happen. My daughter never have rashes at all. I did this routine when she wet herself or you know, doodoo. It doesn't take long and its good because it washes the acid from the waste off her.

I have found the A&D Cream (blue and white label) to work the best on my girls. They both have sensative skin, and this brand works wonders for them. I don't find the butt paste to work at all. Desatin creamy is the next one to A&D that I liked. Hope that helps?!

I have 1yr old b/g twins and the butt paste works well for my son but not for my daughter - for some reason. I would almost even say that it makes her rash worse ?? I usually use the desitin on her and it does the trick in no time at all... if it's really bad I let her go naked as much as possible and I wash the area with soap and water after every bm.
If your dealing with a yeast rash (rasied and red all over the diaper area...a really ugly angry rash)...Lotramin seems to work.

I use and love Arbonne Baby Care Diaper Rash Cream. I have been using it on my daughter for about a year now with excellent results. It's extremely soothing (we use it on other rashes and bug bites too) and it immediately takes away the stinging feeling and burn. I love that it has non-occlusive ingredients so it actually lets her skin breath while it's healing. I highly recommend.

Though it may sound odd at first, putting breastmilk on your baby's rash can work wonders. Just spray some on every time you change her diaper, and let it air dry. Then you can put on some cream to help when you put her diaper back on. I recently discovered the Hyland's homeopathic diaper rash cream, and it works better than anything else I've used. Plus it's zinc-oxide free, which means no scales on her bum when it starts to heal, and less chemicals than some of the other diaper rash creams.

Sometimes a rash maybe due to yeast and will not respond to zinc creams. My daughter had one and we tried everything, but Burt's Bees Powder worked like magic. You can find it at Fred Meyer or Target.

I have three girls and and everytime they have had diaper rashes i have always used bombex I use the oinment when it is open then i follow up with the powder when it is healing and will occasionally just put the powder in there diapers at night since they are in those for for the longer time. Let me know how it works. or what you do to getrid of it.
