I would say to try and go up a size and see if it works. Recently I switch to luvs and I find that they work better then the huggies.
On several occasions in the past week, my daughter has woken up with wet pajamas because she overflowed her diaper. She is right in the middle of the weight range for the diapers she is in (size 4). Should I just go up a size at night, or is there some other "trick" I can try? We hope to start potty training soon but I still need to figure this out so the poor little thing isn't all wet in the mornings! Thanks!

Try the night time diapers. I never used them with my oldest and she woke up wet quite a bit. Then with my youngest someone suggested them and low and behold they actually work! :-) He still wakes up wet every once in a while but not every day like it used to be.
Hi Wendy!
I didn't read all the responses, and I have a boy--but we have the same issue. I still use this trick--I use a maxi pad in his diaper-I attach it to the front, inside of his diaper (with the sticky side against the inside of the diaper, of course:) since his overflows usually happen in front. Perhaps you could put it where her leakage happens. I'm not sure it will help, but it has made a huge difference for my little guy:)
Good luck:)

It seems like diaper brand choice is personal. Some people swear by one brand and some by another. I guess you just have to try a few and see what works for you. For my daughter, we always used Huggies Overnights and, most of the time, went up one size from the diaper size she wore during the day. She had only an occasional leak here or there. Otherwise, it worked great for us.
Here's hoping for some dry nights (and mornings)! :)

Huggies overnight works for us.
This started happening to my 17 month old at 15months. I think and was told by some other parents it happened to there kids too as kids grow and begin to drink more. I wouldn't really worry about it. In regards to changing diaper size I think that's your decision. My son wears a size 6 in the pampers baby dry. I usually switch diaper sizes when I start to notice the excessive elastic lines on his skin...really just to give him more comfort and to make me feel better about the elastic not swallowing up his skin or leaving the unnecessary red marks.
Hope this helps.
How old is your daughter? I am attempting to potty train but my son will get off the pot and then go to the bathroom in his diaper. :-).
Have you tried the specific Overnight diapers? Huggies makes them, and I think Pampers now have an extra absorbent one too. You can find them at Babies R Us or Target.
I would suggest trying a different brand. If you are using Huggies, try Pampers and vice versa. Going up a size may not help. If it is too big, the urine might leak right out the side. Change her right before she goes to bed and try to limit her fluid intake in the evenings. Also, make her pee in the toilet before she goes to bed. I have a just turned two year old boy and had to fight this same problem.
I would go up a size. I always know when it is time to start using up the smaller size when he leaks at night. I usually switch up a size at night quite a while before I have to go up a size in the daytime, mine is usually in the middle of the weight range when this happens too. They are still a little too big, but at night they arent running around bunching them up. I also started using Huggies overnights after about size 2 or 3. I use generic for the day, but the overnights are worth the extra to not have to wake up to yucky messes in the morning.
Our solution was to switch to Huggies Overnights AND to go up a size for those. worked like a charm!
I have bought the special night diapers and it worked at times. I went up a size and it works better. I've always had problem with Huggies and Pampers so I swithched to Luvs which works much better. Also, if your a Sam's Club member, their Members Mark brand works really well. Just go up one size and it should be all good.
This started happening to my son at about 9 months. I switched to overnight diapers which was still not enough and then started to use two which was getting a bit expensive. One of my friends suggested using a maxi pad which she used for her daughter. Basically, my son sleep on his tummy so he was leaking in the front, top. At the top of the diaper across the front I stick an overnight maxi pad so it goes side to side. It does the trick. Not sure where your dauther is leaking but like I said my friend used it with her daughter. And, it is a lot cheaper!
Pampers make overnight protection and works wonders for my daughter. Check their website too, they offer $2 off coupons too.
We had that problem too until we tried the overnights in the same size our son's already wearing. Problem solved! I liked the Huggies until Pampers came out with theirs. At Target, the Pampers are the same price as Huggies but come with a ton more diapers!
I would go up a size. I would also make sure she definitely has gone right before bed or that she doesn't have fluids a couple hours before bed. Right before we started potty training our daughter we had a similar issue...it actually was one of the reasons we started to really try to potty train at that point. good luck. :)
This was happening to my daughter aswell and she was within the weight range for size 4 , I chose to go up to size 5 and this no longer happens , but you could also try an overnight diaper as they are designed to hold more.
