A good place for condo rentals is vrbo.com (it stands for vacation rentals by owner). We just got back from Galveston and I used that site to find a condo and it was great. Hope that helps and have fun!

We go regularly and we love the Hilton Golf and Spa Resort at San Destin. LOVE this place.

It is a gated area and there are a lot of condos there as well. We prefer the resort. There is a lot to do and we love SanDestin

We use vrbo.com to book condos for the Gulf coast. You can also just google condos in destin and book directly through the development themselves. We've stayed at the Destin Gulfgate several times, but lately have gone another 30 minutes down the beach to Blue Mtn Beach or Sandestin as it's not nearly as busy as Destin. Destin has gotten insanely crowded in recent years, lots of traffic jams and tons of people crowding the beaches. You can find cheaper rentals off the beach and then use the two public beaches there (Henderson or Beasley) or pay more and be directly on the beach. The public beaches were actually not as busy as the private ones you have access to with a condo rental surprisingly.

We stayed in Destin last year in an area called Crystal Beach. It was awesome. Close walk (4-5 minutes) to a great public beach, walk/drive a couple minutes the other way to shopping centers with anything you need. We rented a house called the Sundance. The owners were really responsive, very nice and organized. They also own the Sundial cottage in the same neighborhood. I can not recommend this area of Destin and the owners enough - even when we could not light the grill we called them, they answered right away and gave us a tip on how to light it. Sundance has a small pool too which was great with a 2 year old. Look on VBRO, and search for Crystal Beach, Destin, FL and you should see their listings. Good luck and have a blast!

Google VRBO (Vacation Rental by Owner) and put in Destin for your location. My mom books condos in Florida for us when we go through that website and you can usually find really good deals.

My family swears by Ciboney Condos (they may be full at this time), you can find them through VRBO. They are across the street from the beach and have private beach access. They are down the street from Pompano Joes (sp?) which is a great little family restaurant where you can also enjoy drinks on the beach. You CANNOT beat the location or the prices. The 2 bedroom condos easily sleeps 6 and I think some even have bunks so you can sleep 8 (although we have packed in more people than that). Clean, nice and well-maintained. They provide all the essentials including washer and dryer and the condos have an outdoor shower head to rinse off the beach sand. I think all or most have beach view balcony. They also have outdoor BBQs and a pool if you want to let the kids swim in the evening without dealing with the sand again. We went went a few years in a row, then my sister tried a rental house, and was disappointed because she only got to go to the beach a couple days. I also tried a little 2-story condo that is down the road from Ciboney with my other sister (Ciboney was full). It seemed to be newer but didn't have the private beach access which was a let down.
