Design Question: Tailored Bed Covering?

While looking at model homes, I found that many beds used a tailored bedspread or comforter.
Does anyone have any idea where I can order something like this? I'm tired of buying duvets for my queen or full sized beds that don't fit correctly.
Thanks for the input!

I have used a place called Dreams located in SF. They do great work and have fabric on site for your selection and they clean down comforters as well.

You'll need to have it custom made to get it to fit correctly. Mattresses and bedframes are all different heights so you'll need to measure the "drop" from the top of your mattress to the floor. Model homes do the fitted look to hide the fact that the beds are usually fake and they can save $$ by not having to put sheets etc. on the bed.
I'm an interior designer and know a woman who can sew just about any type of bedcovering or window treatment. If you want it quilted it will be more expensive - maybe she can modify something ready-made depending on your bed size.
Let me know if you want her number.
You can also try a shop in San Francisco called Dreams.

Hi,
If you are in the bay area, I have a design studio in Benicia where I do custom work for clients. My business is listed here on mamasource. I do make duvet covers often, with matching shams also if you want them and it usually turns out to be equal or less than pre made retail duvets. You can pick whatever fabric you want and even have two different ones on either side for look changes. Please contact me if you are interested in my services, I am quite flexible on hours by appointment only. 9am to 9 pm Sunday through Friday, I also travel to you for a small fee.
Sometimes moms apprecialte that option.

Thanks,

C.: I ordered bedding for my son's crib and some pillows from www.javisdavis.com. I was very pleased with what I received and will be ordering again when he moves to his toddler bed. She'll send you fabric swatches and consults with you directly over the phone.

We buy our comforters at Bed Bath & Beyond. You can also get them from Penney's and other stores like that. We get them at BB&B because my husband works there and gets a discount!
