I need to start looking for a daycare for my son. He'll be 3 in May and my husband and I feel it's time for him to interact with other kids his age. I'm very skepticle about this decision but i know it's in his best interest. How do I go about finding a daycare, preferably free or at a reasonable price. And one that is reputable as well.

What can I do next?

I am a single mother of a sweet-natured three year old boy and live in Dearborn Heights. I am currently a stay at home Mommy (teaching him things he would otherwise learn in kindergarden-crafts, spelling, numbers, writing, etc- even thought my son just turned three in November). I live close to all major freeways in the area. I am home all the time, and will be for the next six months at least, perhaps longer.
I am not a "daycare" faciliy, but would easly be able to watch another boy my child's age. My son loves to share and learn, and watching another child has been an abition of mine. If you would like to talk with me about the possibility of watching your child during the day
please write me, my email address is: ____@____.com
Maybe we can work something out?

Go to the michigan.gov website and you can get a listing of all licensed daycares by city. I used this resource when looking for a daycare for my son. The site also has reports as far as whether or not the daycare is up to SOM standards. Very helpful.

If you are looking for a school, a montessori, Creative Montessori Center in Trenton is really good. But your Toddler has to be potty trained before they will accept them. Good luck to you. I have a son who is 3 and it was hard to find something that I trust.

I would not put him into daycare. Instead look into placing him in a preschool program. IF you qualify the gov't will pay for it if not, its not too expensive. My daughter went this year for about $700. Shop around though cause some districts cost ALOT more. L'Anse Creuse schools would have charged me over $1000....FOR PRESCHOOL!!!!
My dughter was in daycare for years while I was at work. Yes, she did get to interact and socialize with the kids but once they reach this age, education AND interaction is important.

Best of luck!!
