I just wanted to get some input/ideas from other mom's. My daughters party is in August she is turning one. I am doing a "Royal Theme" My invitations state announcing a royal celebration, and I am mailing them out rolled up and in tubes. Her cake is going to be similar to a wedding cake (I have a friend making it) three layers all white with sides rolled in 2 shades pink and white sprinkles with a tiara as a topper. The top will be her own cake to do with it what she pleases. I am mailing out keys to all children who RSVP so they can bring it to see if they have the magic key to open the family treasure. I also bought plastic but nice tiars for girls, crowns for boys and wands for both. I need to know where to get cheap balloons, cloth table cloths, tule for decorating. I am buying my daughter madalynn a NICE tiara since it is her day. I would like to know any other ideas anyone might have. I want fancy but not to costly. Thankyou!!

What can I do next?

Hi A.,

www.rhinestone.com has incredible tiara's at wholesale prices.... verrrry cheap. They also have a rhinestone star wand.

Personally, unless you were planning on using a mulitude of cloth tablecloths on a regular basis, I would go to a Grand Rental Station or another party rent all place and find out who will give you the best deal. No muss no fuss no cleaning or storage. Good Luck and please remember that nothing is more improtant than enjoying the day.

I needed tulle for something (can't remember what) and found that a large quantity is not cheap. Wait for a 40% off coupon for Joann's Fabrics in the Sunday coupon sections. Watch for it to go on sale, shouldnt be long with June as wedding month and buy it then with the coupon. Or just the coupon :o).

No one has nicer balloons cheaper than www.orientaltrading.com and they ship OHMY fast.

Go to a Party USA or Party America they have a lot of cool themed stuff. As for the tule just go to a fabric store. Cloth table cloths, I suggest vinyl or, if you absoultly want cloth go to Big Lots or Walmart you can always find a deal at those places. I agree with the other mom though don't go to far overboard she wont remember a thing and she will only be interested in the cake. Good luck! P.S. since you have some time still just Google the Royle theme and you will be a lot of hits to choose from.

Hi A.,

The way your going it's already costly LOL! and she deserves it.

As far as cheap cloth table cloths Sams Club has them where their catering stuff is. Dye them pink and apply glitter glue all over them. For balloons I find them cheaper at Hallmark for $.50.

Suggestion: I make my own invites and will do this for my daughter's 2nd birthday ( She just had her 1st this month)and I would think this would be perfect for yours. Take her photo when she's almost 2 and make post card that look like a movie poster from it. For the title it would be "Your daughter's name 2" "...the saga continues" and for the credits you can list the party activities.

Actually, my advice is to not overplan or over decorate because the only thing she will be interested in is getting cake all over her face and if you are lucky maybe she will open a present or two on her own. The party that you are planning sounds more like a four year olds. All that said, if it doesn't stress you or her, have fun!!!!

Hi there- my daughter is also having her first birthday in June. I think your ideas are great. Definately a little more fancy than what I'm planning. There is a party decoration place in Brighton next to staples/Home depot in town that is pretty reasonable. It was once called Great Party- they may have changed the name. I was just there and they have the tiaras that your talking about, tule and all of that fun stuff. They have a great balloon selection and again are pretty reasonable.
We are just going to have ours at the park and I'm thinking about just having a ton of balloons, a ball bounce for the little ones and maybe doing a clown type theme. My daughter really likes Dora and clowns, but I'm not sure that I want to do a character. There will be many years to come when she'll want a character party.
Anyway- good luck. It sounds like a great party. I know everyone says to not over do it for the first party, but that's the party that everyone comes to so you want to make it very special.
