Daughter Sleeping on the Ground!

Two months ago, our 2 year old daughter started sleeping in a twin sized bed. She hasn't fallen out, and loves to sleep in it. Last week, we went on vacation. She slept on an air mattress and was in the same room as my husband and myself. In the early mornings, she would get out of bed and cry out for us. I'd reach out to grab her before she'd wake the rest of the house. Then, I'd crawl back onto the airmattress with her until she'd go back to sleep. I'd go back to my bed.

The last 3 days since we've been back from vacation, I wake up to find her on the floor at her bedroom door, asleep. She never cries out, because I'd hear her. Every morning I open the door hesitantly becuase I know her head is right behind the door. and boom, I bump her, and she wakes up saying "oh, hi mama!" scrambling up to give me a hug.

I asked her today while she was sitting on the potty if she finds the floor comfortable. She said no. I asked her why she leaves her bed to sleep by the door, and she said "mama's here!" and gave me a big hug.

Do you think she's getting readjusted to being home, thinking in the early morning that she's alone, she makes herself to the door... realizing where she is, she just lays down and goes to sleep? BTW, she does have a potty in her bedroom, but wears a diaper to bed. I'm guessing it will level back out and she'll stay there all night again, just needs some time to feel safe again.

What can I do next?

Sounds like she's just getting readjusted.
I'd leave her be.

My friend's son slept on the floor by him bedroom door for almost an entire year after they moved him out of the crib.
He got up,and was so tired, he just went to sleep on the floor. No crying, etc...
When she's ready again, she'll get back in her bed.
Lucky you that she's not crying for you!

No worries. I think all kids go through a spell with this.

If you have a baby monitor set it up on a shelf, out of sight, so you can hear her when she gets up. That way you can go in and help her back on the bed. I think this way she'll just sort of sleep through it and not associate the momma coming in and making her move back on the bed.

Sounds like she's readjusting just fine on her own. I'd just leave her be. If is ain't broke, don't fix it!
