Love it! We went today! I also love James Finch Photography - worth the $15.
I was wanting to go to the Dallas Arboretum. We have never been there and am looking for any tips on going there?? I noticed that they have face painting and a petting zoo , do those cost extra? Also is food allowed to be brought in? Thanks for your help!

The Mommy and Me Mondays, and Tiny Tot Tuesdays have a lot of kid activities. The price of admission covers most of those activities. Last year in Oct, I remember them having hayrides that were not included, but were only a couple of dollars. The food is pricy so I suggest packing a picnic lunch. They are having a children's concert there today (Oct 13) and we are heading out there today.
They also have an area with rustic/pioneer type playhouses that the kids enjoying playing at.
I love going out there, and we end up going about 4 times a year. Bring your camera with extra batteries!
Have fun!
Since it is outside be prepared by bringing a blanket to sit on to watch the leaves twirl, birds play, and flowers bloom. Food is allowed, they just ask you to keep tidy. Wednesdays is buy one get one in free http://www.dallasarboretum.org/Join_Us/DiscountCoupons.htm

Take your camera and put the kiddos in clothes that will show up well in pictures. It is a great spot for family photos. Have Fun!
It's beautiful, and they have childrens' events pretty often so we keep an eye on what's going on at least 1x/season. If you have small children, I'd highly suggest bringing a wagon to carry all the "stuff" because there is a lot of walking. We always have a picnic on the hill overlooking the lake; it's very pleasant.
