Do you have Planned Parenthood in your area? I would start there. PP offers an entire range of medical care for reproductive health and at discounted rates or free based on your income level.

You may be eligible for state assistance. In OR we have an insurance plan called the Oregon Health Plan. There is also another fund for people who are not eligible for private health insurance coverage. Look in the yellow pages under state listings If you don't see a listing that might apply, call the information number.

Didnt the Obama Healthcare plan cover this? If it didnt, then WICK is suppose to cover this stuff.
Otherwise I would go to Planned Parenthood. They do PAPs, contraseptives, birth control and referalls to doctors if its life threatening for free.

I also don't have insurance and need to have surgery. Someone suggested that I use HCAP or Charity Care. I found information for it on my local hospital's website. Try calling your hospital and asking them about it. You will still have to pay something but not the full price without insurance. Good luck.

Since this can be a life threatening situation, you should be able to get care. Have you talked to the doctor/medical facility that diagnosed you? Take out your phone book, start by calling your local health department. You could also try calling your state's dept. of social services.
